148. Starcrawler - I Need to Know
Think this one was from the back end of 2020, a great track by the American rock band from Los Angeles fronted by Arrow de Wilde, featuring guitarist Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

147. Sigrid - Burning Bridges
Shocking this didn't chart in the UK, for me its the best song she has ever done, best known for top 10 hit "Strangers" back in 2017

146. The Honest Heart Collective - 11/17
The Honest Heart Collective were one of the best 2021 discoveries for me, proper mid 00's midwest American dadrock vibes, they are Canadian though, formed in 2013 by brothers Ryan and Nic MacDonald but they are heavily influenced by Bruce Springsteen, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Johnny Cash, The Gaslight Anthem and Frank Turner and if that aint a perfect blend of influences I don't know what is

145. I Fight Dragons - The Taste For GloryI noticed a few other regulars have climbed aboard my I Fight Dragons hype train , I have loved these guys since discovering them in 2019, they come from a genre called chiptune which is basically pop punk that incorporates 8-bit music from retro computer games by using synthesized electronic sounds made using synthesizers in vintage arcade machines, computers and video game consoles, mixed with their melodic pop punk sound it really is a thing of beauty

144. The Stayawakes - It's Cool, It's Rad
Power pop in 2021! yes please, I have no idea why these guys aren't bigger, this was a #5 hit for me back in March. FFO: Motion City Soundtrack, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, All Time Low, etc.

143. Poppy - EAT
“EAT” is a song by Poppy that served as a teaser to her 2021 EP of the same name. It was first performed on March 14, 2021 at the 63rd Grammy Awards premiere ceremony, where Poppy’s song “BLOODMONEY” was nominated in the Best Metal Performance category (the first female ever to be nominated). Then was released on the full EP in June

Canadian rockers Billy Talent officially announced their sixth studio album back in September, sharing the news with a new single featuring Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo and it was a banger.

140. Royal Blood - Hold On
Royal Blood released a more disco infused album which was interesting, being a 2 piece band with only bass and drums things can get stale quickly so I get the direction they went in, most of it was a bit too samey though to be called great, although this one was good

139. Declan McKenna - Rapture
Think this one came out last year but I must've charted it late, it certainly peaked in February 2021 for me at #8, making Rapture his first top 10 single in my chart, previously he came close with "The Key to Life on Earth" #19, "Be an Astronaut" #14

138. MUNA - Silk Chiffon (feat. Phoebe Bridgers)
Interesting collaboration, good song, peaked at #5 for me, probably would've been higher if i was a teenage lesbian given the subject of the song but still a good pop song

135. Wet Leg - Chaise Longue
Controversy time! Where to place a song I didn't chart? These guys came out of nowhere in 2021, tipped by Andy I found it a bit repetitive and too quirky but it has grown on me, they have another song in my top 20 though so stay tuned

133. Badflower - Johnny Wants To Fight
The chart topping rockers were most recently featured on the August cover of Alternative Press Magazine highlighting “artists who are also abolishing genre and creating music on their own terms.” This reminds me of earlier Badflower and the intro reminds me of Blue Album Weezer, maybe its the similarity to sweater song

132. Sunflower Bean - Baby Don't Cry
Love this one, it recently peaked at #3 in my chart, the New York band haven't been too active since since their 2019 EP ‘King Of The Dudes’ so hopefully we get more new music by them in 2022

129. CHVRCHES - How Not To Drown (feat. Robert Smith)
You can hear the influence from Robert Smith in CHVRCHES latest album so it is fitting he made a cameo on this one, it is very synth heavy, 80s goth-pop at its best
