The Human League get a 4th week at #2 with the Eurythmics still at #2, but the battle for Christmas #1 has now taken a turn with the classic by the Waitresses landing at #3 this week just before Christmas week. Of course as soon as January comes in the song will take a nosedive so it is unlikely to have a great chart run but that's typical of Christmas songs, especially ones that enter so late in the year. It's better to release them at the end of November.
With the lists getting short (or maybe just lower in quality) "Mannequin" was put back onto the playlist, and indeed it got in this time but that wasn't enough to prevent Keith Harris from also charting - so Orville's Song isn't a total flop in the NM chart albeit it scrapes in at #49 this week. I suppose it isn't actually a terrible song, just aimed at a certain audience. I did find it it was written by Bobby Crush, who had a top 10 instrumental hit in the NM chart, "Borsalino" in 1972.
Occasionally songs make a recovery in the quiet period after the festive season and go back up the chart. In the UK singles lingering near the bottom of the top 75 are sometimes known to take off at that time too (last year in particular both "Dead Ringer For Love" and "Mirror Mirror" had such runs). In the UK chart "Incantation" did that to some extent, reaching the top 20. Pale Fountains here maybe?
We'll also see if Abba can make the top 10 either next week or just after Christmas.
Meanwhile, if the Waitresses are going to be number one next week, the one that's going to replace them after Christmas is lingering ready to enter next week.
Fleetwood Mac have 2 songs in the chart now. I know they're very popular on here and possibly you'll be asking why "Love In Store" is only #33 but "Oh Diane" was of course a big UK hit. "Love In Store" was written by Christine McVie but also has a co-credit to Jim Recor (who is he?). Oh Diane was written by Lindsey Buckingham.

Will you chart "Thank You For The Music" in 1983 year or already did it before ?

It would chart in 1983 as I don't chart album tracks, similarly "Love" by John Lennon was eligible to be in the chart now as it had never been a hit single before when it was on his first solo album (in 1970).
Abba have reached the top 20 with every single. "Head Over Heels" and "The Day Before You Came" both peaked at #11 and they are in that position now but could still climb. But in 1982 they also got to #15 with "When All Is Said And Done".
Other examples include the Doors' "Break On Through" in my 1991 retro chart, which is actually a song they released prior to "Light My Fire" in 1967 but wasn't a hit at the time, and "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by the Smiths was a single in 1992 and previously an album track on The Queen Is Dead in 1986.
There was a rule made later in my chart whereas tracks more than 3 years old were generally banned, but I made occasional exceptions in particular "The Day That Thatcher Dies" by Hefner charted in 2013 when it was originally an album track from 2000.

This is the Christmas chart. I note a couple of entries from a few weeks ago that are already on their way down after peaking (Beat Surrender and Buffalo Gals) and yet there are newer ones doing well which are possibly not as good but just came later on. So I wonder whether some of the others could make post-Christmas revivals.
No doubt about the highest entry this week though.
I am also not certain when to "skip" the week and get a week ahead. In my chart originally it happened on 3 October 1987 when the chart compilation date changed, but as that's in the middle of the year with a top 100 it will be harder to absorb than if I do it this week in preparation for the Gallup takeover in a few weeks time and thus a top 100 until April 1991 (when it was still Gallup but Record Mirror no longer published it).

I have now compiled the chart of the year, points-based. The song I considered my #1 of the year at the time has indeed landed at #1.
As well as the number one of the year, there is also the best-placed single that didn't get to number one, and the best-placed 2nd single by an act.
One act has taken all 3 of those, and I'm expecting they will also probably be the top act of the year (aggregating all their points).
Having listened to some 1982 albums they also have one of the best (if not the best) album of 1982.

The first week of 1983 is a top 100 and the US chart is frozen. So it makes sense to skip the frozen UK chart and move to 1 week ahead now so there are new entries for both the new two weeks.
They will of course going into the 1983 chart topic. The 1982 one will continue with the chart of the year.

As usual * means it's a crossover from 1981 and ** means it crosses into 1983 (albeit the first 1983 chart isn't compiled yet. Nightporter is #47 on the final chart but because I'm skipping the UK chart this week I'd expect new entries and for this to drop out). This is all on points, and some parts of the year are stronger than others. In particular the start of a year is usually less strong. Interesting that "I Love Rock N Roll" is so low - it reached #9 but had a very short run. And that "Ebony And Ivory" is above it. I always think that one did really badly in my chart but maybe just because it was such a huge UK hit and both artists had much bigger hits in my chart in 1982 - yes, both of them will appear much higher up with other songs. These is the song on the list that wasn't a UK or US top 40 hit. The first may have been a bigger hit somewhere else in Europe. I have no idea why this failed to reach the UK top 40

Clearly Shakin' Stevens and Tight Fit (The Lion Sleeps Tonight) benefit from getting in at the start of the year. "Oh Julie" peaked at #5, his best chart placing to date. "The Model" was in the first chart of 1982 but not the last chart of 1981, being the only entry. It was actually a re-issue of a double A-side but I charted "Computer Love" in 1981 then flipped it. I considered whether to do that with a couple of the Jam re-issues that are back (Dreams Of Children, A Bomb In Wardour Street and Precious, as opposed to Going Underground, David Watts and Town Called Malice). I possibly could add one of them now, I think having 3 is going a bit too far. Originally done by Marlene Dietrich, a 1982 cover worth checking out: This one also didn't reach the UK top 40. This was not a cover but an original song.

On the final chart "State Of Independence" is #40, "Rio" #22, "Africa" #11, "Love Is A Stranger" #4 and "Mirror Man" #2. The Human League started the year at #1 with "Don't You Want Me" So ABC have the number one of the year with "All Of My Heart" whilst "The Look Of Love" is both the highest-placed 2nd song on the list and the highest placed that didn't get to #1. 1982 was very much dominated by British artists. 3 acts from the USA reached #1, Toto for 3 weeks in May and one week each for Donna Summer and Waitresses near the end of the year. Air Supply who are Australian had 2 weeks at #1 very early on (and Graham Russell was from the UK originally anyway) and the rest of the #1s were all UK acts. All of the songs on the list above were either UK top 40 or US top 40 hits except one, by a singer who would later get to UK #1 with a vastly inferior song. (Ok, in 1982 "Valerie" didn't reach either the UK top US top 40, but a remixed version reached both in 1987)

It's an extremely strong top 50 so it's done very well to be #41.

1983 will start soon, I've already rolled the first playlist. Due to a quick change in chart rule it, the year will start fast.
The top 10 artists of 1982 were:
10 Toto, 3 hits, biggest "Rosanna" 9 Depeche Mode, 3 hits, biggest "See You" 8 Air Supply, 4 hits (although one only just entered), biggest "Sweet Dreams" 7 Shakatak, 5 hits (albeit Easier Said Than Done left after the first week), biggest "Night Birds" 6 Soft Cell, 5 hits (with Bedsitter also leaving after the first week), biggest "Torch"
5 Duran Duran, 4 hits (with My Own Way leaving just after the first week), biggest "Save A Prayer"
4 Haircut 100 - 3 hits, biggest "Love Plus One"
3. Dexy's Midnight Runners, 4 hits, biggest "Come On Eileen"
2. Madness, 5 hits (with 2 crossovers), biggest "House Of Fun".
So 1980's top act was second this year, but at number one it has to be:
1. ABC, 3 hits, biggest "All Of My Heart"
I should really calculate this for every year, but in the past few years the winners have been:
1977 Queen 1978 Boomtown Rats 1979 Blondie 1980 Madness 1981 Adam & The Ants 1982 ABC
