ITV trying to get the jump on BBC by starting their coverage at 9:25 on Sunday, 35 minutes before BBC's coverage starts.

Are the BBC going to start their coverage the day before now I'll tune in whenever kick off is, that's enough for me. Is the 3rd/4th play off on tv as well, not seen it in the schedules, but thought it might be somewhere? I see the Aussies are bleating about our rough em up tactics in the first half

I just hope the final is on ITV and not Jono "Talk for the sake of talking" Pearson BBC. Assuming ITV have Matterface, anything else has to be better.

I dont actually mind him, or I've not noticed anything terrible about him? For me, nothing is worse than Jono Pearce, it's like he's not bothered there's a game of football going on, he just wants to tell you all the stats and facts he's got in his brain or on a piece of paper. I sit there telling him to shut up! I groan when I watch MOTD and he's on one of the games!

Like a modern day Alan Partridge, talking in cliches (and not very good ones) and with a general lack of understanding of what is going on and of football in general.

BBC will no doubt be showing off that they're in the stadium and utilising their stadium privileges with some first hand interviews.
I'll probably be tuning into ITV to watch the match - 1) To avoid listening to Alex Scott, who I do rate as a presenter but gets on my nerves as a pundit. 2) To avoid Fara Williams as half the time I can't hear a word she says and 3) if Emma Hayes is commentating, I like her input from a tactics perspective.

I've always thought when you go on a run and lose the ball, that you chase back, rather than standing there having a strop because there was no-one to pass to? I also thought the DM was supposed to cover the gap you've left? Easily exploited by the Spanish though. Let's hope for better performance in the 2nd half.

Wasn't to be.
Maybe the pressure got to them but Spain contolled the match and deserved to win.

Best team won. But the ref was a joke for bottling sending off the booked player who kicked the ball away, and var a joke, 4 minutes to look at a handball which is a handball, and then get the ref to look at it for some time as well to decide it's a handball, should have taken a minute to sort out! Great save, but shame she was off her line when the ball was kicked, and yet var doesn't spot that, ridiculous! I think taking Russo off was a mistake and putting Bright upfront was a mistake, but she's taken England Women to two finals and they've won 1, and that is a great achievement!

Yes, the time taken for the handball decision was ridiculous. Leaving aside the fact that it actually deflected the ball to the feet of a Spanish player, it was clearly handball. VAR didn't even seem to look at whether Earps was off her line (she was).

Ultimately not having Williamson, Mead and Kirby for this tournament finally caught up with the Lionesses.
We did really well (thanks to the superb management of Sarina Weigman) to get this far playing (with the exception of the China game) nowhere as impressive as we did in the Womans Euro's.
We were very lucky to get past Nigeria; in contrast Spain were the best team in this tournament except for their total aberration against Japan. Still losing a World Cup group stage match never did Argentina's Mens side any harm.
Lastly, can this useless Conservative Government actually do something of use and pass a law making it an instantly jailable offense for anyone to say "It's (Football) Coming Home" in relation to the later stages of major national football tournament, as our right wing tabloid media jinxed us again with their xenophobic coverage in this morning's "news"papers.

Haven't seen a goalline angle of Earps' save yet. The only thing that might make it legal is if part of her foot that was in the air was behind the line. Difficult to tell from any of the angles I've seen.

Her foot was deffo off the line, but as you say, could have been above the line, but I doubt it as she stepped forward and then dived and saved it. Irrelevant anyway, just making a point about VAR being useless. I'd love to know what VAR was doing for the penalty, we looked at a replay, it brushes her fingers, so it's a pen, but as suedehead said it actually controlled it for the Spanish player to get a shot off! Another 2 minutes pass, what are they doing then they send her to look at the monitor which they should just have done anyway, she looks at 2 different angles and then talks for over a minute! Was she booking a pizza or taxi for later, what on earth was she asking them, ridiculous! As for it coming home, it isn't because the women have never won the trophy we won, which has changed anyway, and if it's coming home means to the home of football, well the home of women's football is quite clearly USA. They've done great to get to a final and if it was without 3 players even better, but Spain were missing 7 or 8 I think that rebelled some time ago, so they are surely only going to get stronger as well. Entertaining tourno, a lot of average things were amazing and incredible though

Thoroughly enjoyed the tournament. It is astonishing how much the women's game has improved in skill, tactical nous and speed during the past couple of decades.
Delighted England did so well, but a shame they peaked for the semi-final. The final was won by the best team.
Other highlights for me:- - Many stand-out players for England. Georgia Stanway was our unsung hero. Mary Earps' attitude from before the start of the tournament (ref. the disgraceful decision by Nike not to make her jersey available), to her response after brilliantly saving the penalty in the final. Lauren James' fast feet. Some of the best tackling I've ever seen (men and women's football) by Jess Carter, Millie Bright & Alex Greenwood... - Success for women's teams from around the world. No longer a sport dominated by affluent western nations. - Proper tv coverage. Seriously big crowds in the stadia. - The refereeing seemed good on the whole. Questionable VAR at various times, but I don't mind them taking their time to ensure they get a huge call right in the final, even if it did seem pretty obvious to all of us at home.

Congratulations to Spain, and commiserations to England. England's emulation of their manager's homeland in winning the Euros on home soil before finishing runner-up in the World Cup means we are still yet to see a World Cup winning team (of either gender) with a manager that is not a citizen of the respective country. And we are also still awaiting the first Dutch person to win either World Cup as either a player or manager.

The better team won on the night but England did improve in the 2nd half. The change of formation and the subs changed things but Spain had the better scoring opportunities and could easily have had 3-4 goals had it not been for Earps. It's refreshing seeing the so-called lesser nations progressing through to the knockout stages. Nigeria, Jamaica, Morocco to name a few. I mentioned this before but, with the exception of today, good to see the players not over-reacting to fouls as if they've just been shot or something. (I haven't watched many matches so it's only based on a few) Be interesting to see what happens to Sarina Weigman, as she's only contracted to 2025 and USA reportedly chasing her signature. Who knows if there are a few defeats in the next upcoming matches.
Slightly off-topic - Anyone got the latest odds for BBC SPOTY?
