Shaun Murphy's comeback was legendary. Hope Ali Carter can beat Mark Selby. Of course, Ronnie should win the whole thing I hope!

Thrilling end to the Carter/Selby match but really wanted Ali to win. Although maybe Stephen Hendry has a point in the fact that he should really concentrate full time on snooker rather than doing piloting in his spare time. Still hope Mark Selby can win the whole damn thing - don't really like any of the other three left.

Havent watched as much of the World Championship as usual this year Think it will be a Higgins-Murphy final, Higgins has been in amazing form while Murphy has got out of sticky situations in each of his last two matches, the sign of a great player. Reckon it will be close between them, and although Ronnie is my favourite I've always liked Higgins so would rather he won but wouldnt mind if Murphy did it. Ali Carter has always had potential, but he seems to have been left behind in recent years, I'd forgotten all about him until he played Hendry. Selby is someone who I have only vaguely heard of so am amazed he's got as a far as the semis especially as a qualifier. On another note Stevens exit from the Top 16 for next season just shows how strong the game is now. No-one would have imagined it just 2 years ago.

Shaun Murphy showed 2 years ago that anyone who reaches the Crucible is capable of winning the title as the depth in the game is so great these days so it's not a massive surprise to see someone like Mark Selby (who is ranked higher than Murphy was when he won the title) doing so well.
The O'Sullivan-Higgins game was a good one. What was unusual was that for once, Ronnie didn't really beat himself. For the most part, he played quite well apart from maybe half a session. John Higgins is one of the few players who can live with Ronnie, as long he's playing well himself. He's never quite hit top form in his semi-final. Maguire has looked full of confidence.

Unlucky...
13 reds and 13 blacks but he got a kick on the 13th red and was out of position after that...

Another great match last night with Selby beating Murphy 17-16. Higgins v Selby in the final. Higgins is hot favourite but Selby has already beaten two former champions on his way to the final and beat Higgins in the 1st round last year.
Selby is already guaranteed a place in the top 16 for next season, regardless of who wins the final. Anthony Hamilton, Barry Hawkins and Matthew Stevens drop out of the top 16.
John Higgins will definitely end the season at #1 in the rankings, ahead of Graeme Dott.

The afternoon session for the final starts at 3pm this afternoon. Selby needs to win 3 frames this afternoon to force the match into a final session.
Next season's calendar hasn't been announced yet but the season will probably start in August with the Northern Ireland Trophy and finish in May next year with the World Championship.
