Ireland's Vincent Muldoon is the latest player to qualify for the Main Tour. He beat Bjorn Haneveer in a 3rd place playoff at the European Championship after the two semi-finals were won by players who have already qualified for the Main Tour: Kevin van Hove and Rodney Goggins.
India's Yasin Merchant and Thailand's Supoj Saela are in the final of the Asian Championship, with the winner qualifying for the Main Tour.

Supoj Saenla beat Yasin Merchant 7-0 in the Asian Championship final to claim a place on the Main Tour. There are still 2 places available on the Main Tour.
The qualifying draw for the Shanghai Masters is due to be made today.

2 pieces of news:
This year's Pot Black Cup is moving from London to Sheffield. For the last 2 years it has taken place at the RAC Club in London but this year it will be held at Sheffield City Hall. It's a boost for the north after the news that this year's UK Championship won't be held in York. That event will take place in Telford.
England's governing body is to stage a 32-man knockout tournament this weekend to determine their second nomination for the Main Tour. 2 places still remain on the Tour with qualifying for the Shanghai Masters taking place next week.

Vincent Muldoon won't be on the Main Tour after all. His place has been given to Issara Kachaiwong.
The qualifying draw for the Shanghai Masters has been made. Michael White misses the tournament as professionals have to be at least 16 and he doesn't turn 16 until after the tournament.

Martin Gould has earned the final place on this season's Main Tour by winning the English play-off tournament. He last played on the Main Tour in 2004.
He will play Lee Spick in Shanghai Masters qualifying. Issara Kachaiwong will play Tony Drago.

The new season is underway with qualifying for the Shanghai Masters but it has been hit by the withdrawal of 5 Asian players who were unable to get visas/work permits in time to play in Prestatyn. The 5 missing are Issara Kachaiwong, Liu Song, Tian Pengfei, Xiao Guodong and Liu Chuang.
