Ashley was awful and a total prat, I hate his nasally voice and as a person he showed himself to be a total dick on saturday. Louis 'voting off the strongest' my ass
Good riddance

My thoughts:
Nikitta - she really struggled again this week, and she isn't good enough to be in the final 7. She didn't deserve to be blasted by all the judges like that, but the Scottish/sympathy vote kept her in. Ironically, Sharon who instigated the whole thing wrote Robert's ticket to the bottom 2 there and then
Eton Rd - I loved it. Their only performance so far that wasn't a total mess, but Abba week was always going to suit them much better than anyone else
Robert - One of the best performances this week. He added his own spin to the song and I think it sounded great. Didn't deserve to be anywhere near the bottom 2, but hopefully this will prompt his fans to actually vote for him
Leona - Now she's toned down the whole Christina/Mariah thing (which Louis and Sharon have only noticed strangely) she sounds much more pure and this performance sounded great because of it. Performance of the night
MacDonalds - Karaoke and no more. As with Nikitta being "nice" doesn't cut it anymore
Ray - Nik and McDs might have sung badly, but Waterloo done in a swing style was never going to work. It was horriblly cheesy and sleazy, I was repulsed all the way through. As Robin said it was no different to what we've already seen from him. Simon's rebuttal to Louis' comment about being a one trick pony was strange, if they don;t care about showcasing versatility, why have themed weeks? In any case, if Ray was not Simon's mentor, he would have been very critical
Ben - Never has a theme gone against someone like Abba did for Ben on paper, but he did a decent job with the song he had. He looked so uncomfortable out there though. The first time so far he hasn't stolen the show for me
Ashley - On paper it was a great song choice, but he didn't have the range or the confidence to pull it off. He should have gone over Robert, but Ray, MacDs and Nikitta should have all gone before Ashley.
I hear that Julio Igleasias has pulled out of next weeks show, so I don't know if there is a theme next week

Well surely they weren't going to sing Julio songs, so is it just love songs?
In which case, no need to change anything

Eton Rd doing Don't Cha was the other rumour - I would love to see that, and the X Factor viewers have still been denied Gillian McKeith singing it

My thoughts:
Nikitta - Uggg. Horrible. And yet, I really do like her. I really want her to do well. She shouldn't have changed her choice to Dancing Queen, but Im not sure what Simon picked for her either.
Eton Rd - Absoutely fantastic. Easily the best of the night for me.
Robert - I thought it was horrible. I hated every second of it. Sorry.
Leona - It was alright. A little bit bland especially compared to last week. She's got a good voice, the trouble is, every time she opens her mouth in the interviews, all I hear is 'fafafafafaf'.
MacDonalds - I really don't understand why they're still here. But there we go.
Ray - A complete and utter train crash. Horrible from start to finish. Absolutely nothing good to say about it what so ever.
Ben - It was ok. Which actually meant he was one of the best on the night. Still, it was all a bit predictable and yawn enducing.
Ashley - Completely and utterly out of tune from start to finish. He had the advantage of going last and still ended up in the bottom two. The public hate him, and quite rightly so. He's an obnoxious little tw*t and deserves nothing.
In terms of who I think should have been the bottom two - I really don't know. Not Ben, Leona, or Eton Road. But any of the others were not good at all. ABBA night was always going to be a disaster, just like it was in Pop Idol. I have no idea why they repeated it.

As I didn't see Pop Idol, I didn't think Abba week could possibly be as bad as people say. Then I found this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im26L9LszhQTell me Rosie got voted out that week for that monstrosity

Yep the Donna Summer song. It's very upbeat, Brenda sang it last year, as did Lucy on Celeb X Factor.
Other songs: Ben Mills: 'Don't Wanna Miss A Thing' (Aerosmith) - how predictable!!! Leona Lewis: 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word' (Elton John) MacDonald Brothers: 'She's The One' (Robbie Williams) Raymond Quinn: 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' (Queen) - guess what - it'll be another swing version Robert Allen: 'Always and Forever' (Heatwave) Eton Road: 'From Me To You' (The Beatles)

Thanks for listing them. Urgh I don't like ANY of those songs (although I've never heard of 'Always And Forever' or 'From Me To You').I'll skip the show and just tune in for the results show instead.

Brenda was the best of the top 5 last year, I don't understand why she got voted off 4th, and she's the only one of the final 5 who never materialised with anything.
