That is SO true.None of this years batch are even close to being as good as she was. No.hahaa So it came down to the wire (whatever that means) and Sharon votes to send Nikita home,Louis votes to send Ray home.I'm sure they both knew Ray was worse but decided to vote differently to make Simon have the 'drama' of having to choose between his own two acts. Posted by Paul: You are psychic ! Simon sent the FAR stronger act home(Nikita),and we're stuck with that toddler muppet swinger for another week . Simons favourite all along has been Leona - I'm sure he's happy now that she'll stand out even more as being the only girl left in the competition.I bet he's been sniffing 'round her from day one.

on the week there's only 3 left they are not gonna come top They don't have the judges saving an act every week though, remember. Last year, when it got to the last 5, the judges no longer got to choose. With 6 acts left, it was between the Conways and Chico, and Simon chucked his own act out. Then the week after, there was no bottom two - it was just bye bye Chico. Going by that logic, Saturday coming will be the last time the judges get to interfere. In terms of only 2 the final week, do we know that for certain? There are still rumours of bringing an act back, and as next week will be the half way point, I suppose that would be a natural point to do so...

Brenda was the best of the top 5 last year, I don't understand why she got voted off 4th, and she's the only one of the final 5 who never materialised with anything. I agree that she was great (bit random mentioning it as that was a year ago. I suppose we were spared finding out how well Shayne did in the NM chart ). Arguably she's done better than anyone last year, as she is in Chicago now, and that suits her better than a recording contract I don't see an act coming back. It's not fair to have one of the 6 out in the live shows, or even the 11 acts that made the final 8 in each category come in this late in the competition. It has been confirmed there is a final 2, and the schedule fits perfectly with that, so there is no need to bring anyone back. The scheduling also indicates that Saturday will be the last of the bottom 2, and the week after the final 5 will sing twice, with the act with the lowest number of votes going home. I think Ray and Robert will be in greater trouble than the McDs if they get to that stage - if Ray has to sing 2 songs, his lack of versatility will be very obvious. Robert has been in the bottom 2 twice, and he seems to need a killer performace to get people to vote for him. MacDougal's making the final? It's unlikely but not totally impossible. As Sharon implied on Saturday how hilarious would it be if they won and Simon had to sign them. People must be voting for them simply to p*ss off Simon, it's more than the Scottish vote nonsense.

My thoughts of the performances this week:
Ben: The trouble with the song was that because of Ben's voice, there is nothing he could have added to the song. He did what he could with it, and it was a good performance. He did start badly though, and there was no need to practically rape that poor woman in the audience
MacDougals: It sounded less karaoke than usual, but still karaoke. They were unable to really step it up at the end
Ray: It struck me on Saturday how Ray is Wee Jimmy Krankie. That thought terrified me more than the prospect of this little precocious brat doing the same thing every week and being loved for it
Nikkita: The first time she sang it, there were tuning issues. The second time she had ironed most of it out, and it was her best performance in the whole show. She definitely deserved to stay over Lardhead
Eton Mess: As the weeks have gone on, that have been more together with their vocals which is good. But it was an appalling song choice and arrangement. When will they realise that the "odd one" isn't that good a singer, and the whole falsetto thing sounds awful? In summary, it screamed Butlins.
Leona: She's toned down the Mariah/Xtina thing and sounds much better for it. She made the song her own, absolutely flawless. The only problem I now have is that Simon does seem to be modelling her on AI3s Fantasia, and she didn't sell that well
Robert: Excellent performance. It was always going to be a risk to do a song that many people might not know, but he put everything into it. Definitely among the top 3 acts left IMO

In terms of only 2 the final week, do we know that for certain? There are still rumours of bringing an act back, and as next week will be the half way point, I suppose that would be a natural point to do so... Yes, Ben asked the question on Xtra Factor and they said there would only be 2 in the final this year Ok, cool, that puts my mind at rest about one thing, anyway! My thoughts on this weeks performances, now I've watched them all again on youtube... Ben. Horrible horrible start. Just awful. What on earth possessed him to do that?! He did manage to pick it up though so fair dues to him. I still have this ongoing problem with him though, that everything he does sounds the same, and I'm getting a bit bored of it now. I think if he's going to reach the final he needs to try something a bit more exciting. I'm just not sure what. McDonalds. I'm afraid I really really liked it. They sang in tune for probably the first time on the live shows, and I thought it sounded great, and reminded us all why Louis put them through. They took a well known song, and made it their own. And didn't try to do a guitar solo. Ray. Yawn. Ok, as a performance on it's own it was of a good standard. But when we consider that he's done exactly the same thing for weeks on end it just becomes really dull. I can only assume Simon has something up his sleeve, but honestly, I can't see him pulling the fans back now. Nikita. She's my favourite (ex) contender in terms of personality. She's the only one that I wanted to get to know, that I felt I had any connection with. But the performance was dire. She did deserve to be in the bottom two. It's a shame she went, but it's even more of a shame that the reason she went was because from start to finish she was given songs and an image that didn't really suit her. Eton Road. I'm sorry, I can't help it. I find them really entertaining. I can't help but bop along with them, whatever they do. They do need to learn that using Anthony's voice to harmonise is good, using his voice to squeal at us is not. But apart from that I can't fault them at all. My tip to be one of the final two. Leona. Simon was right when he said it was a world class performance. It really was. I think everyone could feel the emotion behind the voice, pure, raw talent. Can't fault her one bit. My other tip to be in the final. Robert. It was great. Absolutely can't fault the performance at all. My problem with him, however (and the reason I think he's been in the bottom 2 a few times) is that he just reminds me of Andy from last year too much. He can't show his personality when he performs because when he does he can't sing (week 2) and so he ends up being a guy with a good voice which doesn't always carry the song off (week 4). He doesn't even have the endearing binman story.
