Ah, #49
Gentleman Jim
Such a pure pop voice
And the song ........... right from the intro .. and the first words .. I hear the sound .....
My dad's favourite artist
Did that influence me - probably. Do I care. No.
It is a classic nonetheless. Tragic loss to music far too early.

I could be forgiven for saying classic every time now.
Scott MacKenzie has a great voice.
And you just know the words to this one don't you.

Now this might split the camp
Either big cheer
or
big groan
Big sloppy ballad from AOR band. Hmmm.
I like it.

Clearly not everyone's cup of tea Ms Dion
However, she is a tremendous stage presence, has a marvellous voice and this song ... well perfect for her.

Forget the fact that he cheated on the lady in red with the young au pair
Just wallow in the romance
imagine writing this for your wife or girlfriend - what a guy
Brilliant song.

Accept no substitutes
Yes Gareth was ok - the Kumars helped
Dr and the Medics - who?
The original and still the best.
Please give it up for Norman Greenbaum - my #41

A seminal work by the man.
Original.

Just six points separated #40 and #36 So its definitely true to say that maybe a week or month from now if challenged to repeat this exercise one or two songs might swap places. it's not pure science after all
