I thought it was an awful song even at the time, in comparison "Don't Worry" was ok!

Don't Worry was one of the best songs of 1990... So briliant. Her doubt album was good too.

Does anyone know what Ms Appleby is up to nowadays? I haven't heard anything about her in ages. I think the last thing I heard was Free Spirit!

From Wikipedia:
Kim has recently recorded a new song in 2006 called Up Where I Belong and is currently trying to strike a new record deal to release new material.

I love Kim Appleby ! I wrote to her fan info service when 'Free Spirit' was released (god ,that shoulda been a hit) and she sent me a signed pic.Yay !! The first thing I ever bought from Ebay was her 'Breakaway' cd album that I'd been searching for ,for TEN years ! I've since bought the Breakaway Extended Mixes album too.
She soo needs to bring out another album. I love the Mel and Kim F.L.M album - that is one of my fav albums of all time, especially the track 'More Than Words Can Say'. Just gorgeous.
I remember seeing Kim in an episode of 'Doctors' (playing an ex popstar and mother, that didn't want her teen daughter to become a singer) and she was pretty good too ,and in that episode she sang part of a song acappella and sounded really good.Don't know what the song was called though.

Oh I actually like 'More Than Words' even more than 'Respectable' !! 'Respectable' is utterly fabulous too though - oh and what about the video !? The song always makes me think of the video ,instantly.Love the video - the clothes ,the dance routine, just spot on.
I wasn't mad about Girls@Play cover of 'Respectable' - very good voices but it just wasn't right.Cover any other Mel & Kim track (if you must, ladies),but 'Respectable' should never be tackled by anyone else !

Cinnamon's version of "Showing Out" was passable, but yes, Girls@Play should have stayed away from "Respectable". It was a terrible follow up to the great "Airhead".
I love the "Respectable" video. It always reminds me of The Chart Show. It's them skipping down the alley singing "Tay-tay-tay-tay" that always sticks in my head.

I don't know if I know 'Airhead' ? Doesn't ring a bell.I know a few of Girls@Play tracks and they're all better than their cover of Respectable.
Oh Yes - Cinnamon.Forgot about that.I have it on some gayboy compliation cd .Might have to dig it out and refresh my memory.lol

Thats the one I was just in the process of putting up the tracks! I like the Jocelyn Brown's version of Somebody Elses Guy, and I looooove Newton's Sky High. Kia Tammy Haywoods bad version of the Lonnie Gordon track I'm listening to it now, and have the Lonnie CD lined up next

I love all the songs except for 'Do You Wanna Party' - but that's handy that it's the final track on the cd,so I just stop it before it gets that far Kia ? Hmm I like it but yeah i can see why you you make this face She ain't no Kylie.lol OH but I lurve 'How Could He Do This To Me' by Tammy Haywood.Probably my fav on the cd. Now before you tear your hair out,let me explain. I've owned this compilation since 1998 and all this time- well up until late 2006 anyway- I thought it was her own original song .Yes you may make this face now I bought 7'' of Happenin All Over Again when I was younger - and always thought that was Lonnies ONLY song !! Last year a friend sent me Lonnies album ,so I'm a bit more up to speed now. It's fab ,but that said,I'm just USED to the Tammy version and love it that lil bit more than Lonnie. Oh you hate me now don't you ?! lol Do you know if 'Don't Call Me Angel' by Norma Lewis is a cover ?It's fabulous, and I've always wondered if anyone else got their mitts on it ,before she did. Ah yes Newton.I'd never heard of him til I bought this cd.He also sings 'Sometimes When We Touch'.Did her ever sing anything else,or get to do an album ? Looking at the cover photos on 'Loved Up' ....ok so Newton is the man (see how I figured that out ? Nothing gets past me haha).Kym and Jocelyn are centred (fab cover too),above them to the left is old Nicki, above them to the right is the utterly fab Tatjana (spot her in my sig !!) What I've always wanted to know is - the three remaining 'stars' ,who is who ?? Any idea ? Can you match those stars to the singers names ? Yes I love that too.It is her own song ,no/yes ? I'm almost sure I have it by her on another compilation cd (the original version maybe ?) I lose track of what I have.

I'm pretty sure the one under Tatjana is Lorna B
I think the girl next to them is Sally Anne Marsh but i'm looking at a small pic

Oh thanks Manic (if you're right ! lol) So,that would leave the girl under Nicki French. Smurfie will help solve the mystery ? Is she Cinnamon ? or Suzann Rye ? or Kia ? or Tammy Haywood? Whoever designed the booklet needs a slap.Pics of 12 singers plus names isn't too much to ask.lol
