Ooooo crikey! I don't know that much about it I'm afraid... I just know that I like listening to most types I've heard. Would you care to explain the differences?

Ok- Orchestral is like all instruments, and lots of them. Symphonies and concertos and the such-like. Chamber music is instruments, but smaller groups, like string quartets, wind quintets etc etc. Choral music is lots of voices and an orchestra- things like Beethoven's Ode to Joy (although that's an oddity, since it's the last movement of a symphony ) or Handel's Messiah (the Hallelujah chorus is quite famous). Vocal music can either be smaller ensembles (sometimes they combine with chamber groups, sometimes they sing a capella) or even solo (like song recitals). Make any sense

In that case, I tend to like orchestral and chamber then.
However, saying that, one of my favourite pieces is Allegri's "Miserere Mei, Deus" so I guess I like most types.

That's a great piece of music- do you know the story of how it came to be known outside the church?

Basically, it had been passed down by oral teaching for centuries (stop thinkning filthy thoughts ) and it had never been written down- anyone who did it would have been kicked out of the Church. Then one day, old Mozart goes to hear it and on the way home writes it down in its entirety! But he got away with it because he's Mozart!

Good question but, no. I haven't got either internet or music access at work so I'd really struggle! I did used to work in a hi-fi shop when I left college though and they just used to let me play my own cds all day long, it was a great job!

They sound nice - kids sweets are the best. I've never seen one before though.
