I do really like Ok Computer but I have to say I much prefer The Bends-consistently better throughout if you ask me. Ok Computer has its moments though-Paranoid Android of course being the standout track.

Kid A was one of my first Radiohead albums - it took me a few listens to really get into it. The only album I haven't got into yet is Amnesiac. Not heard Hail To The Thief yet, but it's meant to be crap?

I never gave Kid A enough chances. After one play I returned it to the store and got my money back. I like melodies - simple. And I always feel there are plenty of great albums I am not buying so I felt I could buy something else with the money (not that I was short at the time). Plus I wanted to make a point.
Albums like that one probably explain a lot why rock was going through such a tough phase in 2000.

I remember one time, someone told me to return Kid A and get Amnesiac instead. Personally, I've only listened to Amnesiac a few times. I used to always only listen to Knives Out & Pyramid Song - PS being the song that got me into Radiohead a few years ago. And Neil, you've should've kept Kid A, it has some great songs on it...

"kid a" wasn't as difficult to get into as i'd expected, but having owned it for almost 18 months i'm only JUST starting to "get" the national anthem... i love it when music hits you straight away, but growing to like something can be very nice as well... i'm usually quite a melody sort of person, but if some songs have amazing atmosphere... "kid a" is full of them.

But Kid A is just great! It took me about 10 listens to really get into it but now I absolutely adore it. Possibly my favourite album ever. I'll have to lend it to him with strict instructions to listen to it in a darkened room at night. But he might think I'm strange. Hang on, I've known him for about five years... surely he knows that already...?

"Kid A" has plenty of guitars and melodies... some people are just very lazy when it comes to listening to music...

Yeah, it is very different... the toughest step to converting someone to radiohead is getting them to like stuff after OKC... especially if they're into guitar rock That was never a problem for me...

Did you give it a second chance? How does the rest of it compare to Idioteque?

How does the rest of it compare to Idioteque? I love Idioteque... some parts of it are much more guitar based than that. However, some are really ambient too. It's really difficult to describe the album but Idioteque is reasonably typical.
