Is there a nickname one of your friends calls you by that you really don't like but haven't got the heart to tell them you'd rather not be called it ?

Is there a nickname one of your friends calls you by that you really don't like but haven't got the heart to tell them you'd rather not be called it ? i have lots of nicknames. i think people mostly find out quite quickly if there's one i don't like. doesn't stop them though most of my friends here call me by my last name, which i'm not that happy about - but i've got used to it

Do you have a "phone voice"? If so, which accent?

Do you have a "phone voice"? If so, which accent? i don't think i do. my accent always changes a bit depending on who i'm talking to - if i talk to a strongly-accented person for long enough, i'll start to pick up the traits of their speech i am more likely to sound 'southern' on the phone, though ;D

When was the last time you made a regrettable decision ?

When was the last time you made a regrettable decision ? i make little ones every day - should i have done this, should i have started this earlier, should i not have decided to do this, and so on - but that's more down to my indecisive and slightly paranoid character things like that are nothing, though - tiny details which can easily be rectified, or which, if not, are too insignificant for it to matter. the last thing that i did that i regretted was not coming home to see my parents until a week into the easter holidays, largely because i was having too good a time with people here i only regretted it because of the row it caused with my mum, though, and in retrospect, the time i got to spend with my friends (most of whom i didn't see again for 5 weeks) made it worth it. and my mum got over it, too

At least you're not alone in having disagreements and stand-offs with your parents...I can relate to that ! Regarding paranoia, what aspects of your life & emotional well-being do you feel uncomfortable with that give you the most worry ?

If you could ever write your "dream" dissertation, what would be the dissertation subject/title?

If you joined a lookalike agency, who would you try and pass yourself off as?

Regarding paranoia, what aspects of your life & emotional well-being do you feel uncomfortable with that give you the most worry ? hmm, a bit pointless my answering this now as you're not even here these days but it's an interesting question... i guess it's more that my confidence can be shaken really easily. although when i'm thinking rationally i feel quite happy with most aspects of myself, the smallest incident can make me doubt it. i get told that i focus too much on looking for 'patterns', which means that when some minor thing happens i try to find an explanation for it, and this snowballs into 'ZOMG WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE' or something similarly dramatic. it's not healthy, and i know it leads to me getting far more upset over things than i should. i also try too hard to please people i care about. i want everyone to be happy. that sounds sweet, but it's kind of irritating when you spend so long thinking about what other people want you forget what you want...!

If you could ever write your "dream" dissertation, what would be the dissertation subject/title? well, since i hope to go into academia, with any luck one day i'll get to do just that i'd like to write a book on medieval english translations of french texts, particularly in the context of the hundred years' war. so something not remarkably dissimilar to what i did for my MA diss - in fact, what i'd love to do is go back to that particular text and give it the more extensive treatment it deserves...

If you joined a lookalike agency, who would you try and pass yourself off as? i wouldn't be able to! i don't look remotely like anyone famous. i did a face recogniser thing a few years ago which told me that i apparently look like a few celebs, except i'd have to 'lighten up' as they're all the wrong skin colour
