Oooh, we could merge, hang on, will do it later, if I know how... Bet Robin is happy with County's away win at Gateshead, tough place to go... Stags were very unlucky to lose to a late Torquay goal, deserved a draw More fuel for the anti-holdsworth brigade ;( Notts County were at home.. Didn't realise there was an option on here to merge threads, i'm sure i've wished threads could be merged in Sport before having seen how successful it is on the Reading forum.

All the teams from step 4 and below have gone now; two teams from step 3 (FCUM and Swindon Supermarine) are still in the cup.
No guaranteed third round places for non-league teams yet, although if York or Woking win their replays then there will be.

Bury v Stockport v Peterborough The pitch will be very crowded! Could be an interesting match. Blame the BBC - I just copied and pasted from their website.

ESPN are showing Woking v Brighton on Tuesday 16. As a Brighton supporter and ex-Woking season ticket holder I think I might be watching.

Can anyone (raliverpool perhaps) explain Swindon Supermarine? The town isn't exactly known for its maritime history.

The club was established in 1992 as a merger between two local clubs, Supermarine F.C. and Swindon Athletic F.C., both of which were struggling financially, taking the latter club's place in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

The latter's name comes from the Supermarine aircraft company, which built Spitfires during WW2. Just to add a little more to this interesting diversion. The Supermarine aircraft company was originally based in Southampton, and specialised in fast flying boats - hence the name. Their chief designer was RJ Mitchell, who designed the Spitfire from the mid-1930s onwards. Spitfire production began at the Southampton factory, but was expanded across southern England and the Midlands during 1938-1941 partly because of capacity constraints at Southampton, and later because the Southampton factory was bombed out. Spitfires, or Spitfire parts, were also built at Castle Bromwich (in the factory which now builds Jaguar cars), Salisbury, Reading and Trowbridge.

At least the Southampton link helps to explain the Supermarine name.

How many people at ITV are praying they don't end up showing Ebbsfleet v Stevenage?

To be fair Ebbsfleet v Stevenage is as attractive as Droylsden v Dagenham/L Orient.

Had it been down to me, I'd have picked for the live games:-
[BSP] Crawley Town v Swindon Town [L1] [L1] Carlisle v Tamworth [BSP] [BSS] Dover Athletic v Brentford or Aldershot [L1/L2]
I assume the following were ruled out because they'd already been shown in Round 1, and the cash ought to be spread around a bit:- [L1] Sheffield Wednesday v Northampton Town [L2] [BSP/L1] Cambridge United or Huddersfield v Macclesfield or Southend [L2] [L1/BSS] Brighton or Woking v FC United of Manchester [NPL]

In the first couple of rounds, the TV companies always seem to go for matches featuring non-league teams and nine times out of ten, they'll show a match where the non-league team is at home.
I would've gone for Dover over Droylsden as well but the possibility of the first ever Wimbledon-MK Dons meeting was too much for ITV to pass up.

Crawley v Swindon is a big miss, could be a shock there as Crawley with their millions are doing well in the BSP, guess they went for Droylsden as they are lower down the pyramid, plus they'll need the money more...
