Agree with the Crawley-Swindon match being picked and ITV1's choice, but glad i'm not the only one who thinks it was a shame that Dover's match wasn't picked ahead of Droylsden's, especially after they caused one of the big upsets in the previous round.
Unfortunately i'll be at Reading-Leeds as otherwise I would have seriously considered going to the Dover game. Assumed that the ITV game would be on the Sunday, so i'll miss that too unless i catch some of it in the concourse before the game, though if its AFC Wimbledon v Stevenage i wouldn't have much interest anyway!

Chesterfield go out after losing 3-1 at Burton Albion. Burton are at home to Middlesbrough in Round 3.
Droylsden face Leyton Orient in Round 2 on Monday night. The winners will travel to Norwich in Round 3.

My guess at the televised ties
Man U v Liverpool (obviously) Stevenage v Newcastle Arsenal v Leeds FC United v Portsmouth (if they can wait until the replay) and/or Crawley v Derby (again, if they can wait for the replay) Chelsea v Ipswich
If the league sides win the replays then
Sheff Utd v Aston Villa Southampton v Blackpool

If the cup is about the underdog, shocks, etc, then why every year do they show some chuffing all Premiership clash? It's not as if they need the money is it? So pleased Cheaterfield went out

There's a few options for the other choices. Chelsea v Ipswich does nothing for me whatsoever. Scunthorpe v Everton is a possibility. Maybe Huddersfield v Dover (though the TV companies tend to prefer the non-league side to be at home).

I went for Chelsea v Ipswich as a possibility because it's the holders against Roy Keane. There's always a tendency to show the holders in the 3rd round and the additional factor of Roy Keane - even though he has no link to Chelsea - would be an added attraction.

So pleased Cheaterfield went out The clubs don't need the money but the televsion companies need the viewers. They wouldn't get much of an audience for Wycombe v Lincoln or Hereford so wouldn't be able to charge the advertisers very much.

It would be great for Dover to get picked, 1st time in the club's history they've reached the 3rd rd too, but i can't see a tie featuring no teams from the top 2 divisions being chosen unfortunately, and as you say they tend to go for the non-league sides at home. I'd like to throw into the hat Leicester-Man City, after unbelievably it was picked in the draw by fans of both the teams involved! Eriksson is coming up against the team he used to manage, he also managed Mancini in Serie A, and i'm pretty sure Mancini played for Leicester at one point too. Pleased with Reading's draw. I've got a feeling we may go on a run in the 2nd half of the season, like last season, we're certainly playing well enough to, and a home draw against a PL side, and one we knocked out of the cup last season, is a good start!

And Leicester v Man City is a repeat of the first FA Cup final I saw - in 1969 There's a mini-topic: First FA Cup Final?Mine was the 1986 final between Liverpool and Everton. It was Lineker's last game for Everton before he went to Barcelona. Liverpool won 3-1 with two goals from Ian Rush, to complete the double (much rarer then than it is now). In fact, it was probably the first ever football match I watched.

Although I only watched the first half an hour... we (my family) were all at someone's house - no idea whose - and had to leave halfway through.

First FA Cup Final?
Southampton 1-0 Manchester United (1976)
I was just the right age to be getting into football, and growing up in Hampshire, all the playground talk that spring had been of the Cup run. By March I had started tracking results and players in the newspaper.
I vividly recall the evening after the match. All of the village pubs in mid-Hampshire were full of families wearing scarfs and enjoying a glorious early summer evening. Every few minutes another car would arrive, a bunch of supporters pile out, and everyone start applauding each other. And every 15-20 minutes, someone would start yet another rendition of "When The Saints Go Marching In".
I've never had such an enjoyable football experience since, but then I think the only thing that would beat it would be an England World Cup win at Wembley. (We can but dream).
