Love it, how the Cycling team are sweeping up the golds, that must be the 6th in the cycling.
Well done Laura

6th inside the velodrome, 7th if you count Bradley Wiggins. In Beijing, we got eight in total.

Can't believe that, the perfect result in that last event!

Victoria Pendleton relegated after race one of the sprint final after coming out of the sprinting lane, so she's 1-0 down to Anna Meares.

Where the hell is this discretion that was talked about at the start? :s Are we to accept that elbowing is allowed but being a fraction over a line isn't?
If Meares wins this through relegation it will be a travesty

To be fair, Pendleton won the world title this year in exactly the same way.

Pendelton doesn't deserve gold, she can go fast but has no control of her bike, she already got her and her team mate dq and when she won gold she looked dodgy to me and was close to a second dq and now this

Silver for Pendleton. Outsmarted by Meares in the second race.

Oh well. I suppose we can afford to lose a 22nd gold medal to hand a third over to our commonwealth buddies.

At one point I thought he might lose that, which made it a much more exciting race

Bad luck on Victoria Pendleton. It does seem unfaie she was elbowed but got relegated. But she was out-cycled on that second race - and showed really poor tactics so am not entirely sure she would have won. A bit of a sad end to her career though.
Good on Sir Chris for getting another gold. The cyclists have done very well. 8 golds.

I don't believe Pendleton was at fault this time - that disqualification was rather dubious. Obviouslt she strayed out of her lane but WHY? ? No doubt this affected how she rode in the second heat. 22 Gold Medals already 3 more than Beijing. I WAS WRONG and never more delighted to be so!! And Chris Hoy another finalist in SPOTY.

SPOTY odds:
4/9 Bradley Wiggins 7/2 Jessica Ennis 12/1 Andy Murray 16/1 Mo Farah 25/1 Chris Hoy 66/1 Alistair Brownlee 100/1 Ben Ainslie 100/1 Laura Trott 100/1 Victoria Pendleton 100/1 Jason Kenny
That would be a pretty solid shortlist but I'd like to see Kath Grainger on there.

Andrew Osagie qualifies for the 800m final after finishing 2nd in his semi-final behind David Rudisha.

Bronze medal for Robbie Grabarz in the high jump. Good effort to win a medal but he'll be disappointed not to have jumped higher. Difficult conditions tonight, though.
