You might think i'd be a huge fan of the show being big on 80s nostalgia as i am but it didn't really 100% work as its own thing outside of all the references. Great moments in it and i rated it 8 out of 10 but it's not the amazing thing people say it is. I think a lot of the fans may be too young for the references (Stephen King, ET, John Carpenter) and so they're new? Nice score, goes without saying.
Caught it on YouTube before it was pulled as i'm not an Apple Music subscriber. No sign of the brand new (released a week later) Volume Two on there so it may not chart but we have the stream of the extended theme as you saw on my Hits Chart.

Not often i chart a song that was previously both a sales and my own number one but this rework (basically a new song with a new melody but using some of the same lyrics) is different enough and moving enough - sadly given recent / current events. As well as The BEPs this features several notable vocalists including Diddy, Mary J Blige, The Game, Jessie J, ASAP Rocky, Usher, Nicole Scherzinger, Cassie, Tori Kelly, Andra Day, DJ Khaled and a returning Timberlake. Lots more in the video as well as "real" people like families of the fallen and representatives of religions, sexualities and the forces.

No official release yet but the full versions of the themes from the ITV drama about young Queen Victoria starring Jenna Coleman are up online. As the main theme is short i've listed both together to give more buck for your bang (same chorus on both). :wink: The Baebes have been a fluctuating clan for two decades and started as a goth group eventually becoming "respectable" classical crossover act. They and Phipps previously collaborated on BBC's The Virgin Queen but this one might just bring them real fame.
6 NEW Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Jesus Alone VIDEO
Cave's son tragically died in an accident last year. So this brooding ballad with an electro undercurrent is not the CCM-alike hope-filled ditty the title would seem at first glance or even the semi-gospel classics from 2004 i loved the most. First top ten for Cave / Seeds since 2004.

It's not a classic but it's quite great in places and is her best album. If you skip the clumsy :wink: dance tracks and listen to the laid back cool of most of the rest.
The first Britney album i've chosen to listen to in full since the early days so some of the others chart lower down. I have no interest in hearing anything from Circus to now, based on the rubbish that i've heard. I already own the 2004 Greatest Hits and several CD singles and have heard the first two albums in full before this week. She was a singles artist icon for me between 99 and 04 - every new video was an event like a Madonna vid once was.
2 NEW Carly Rae Jepsen - E.Mo.Tion: Side B (MA) SPOTIFY
Songs that didn't make the main album on this eight-track set. More artists should do this. Kylie could fill three albums with her offcuts.
Original set peaked at #8, though this isn't necessarily better - just an easier time to chart.

By coincidence - my chart act Broods have a song used in trailers for Victoria. Freak Of Nature with Tove Lo. Now their most popular song in UK by some distance. Maybe it's a single soon?  And Joe's Dream is next to Nick Cave who had the album Henry's Dream. I probably did that on purpose subconsciously. :lol: |

So people in the UK saw this "Living Doll" turn up on The X Factor last weekend. Turns out she's a singer / songwriter from Denmark (UK radio interview from 2014) who co-wrote Infernal's best single Ten Miles and featured on several dance singles including DJ Alligator's Lollipop. This is what she actually looks like at home as Nicole Stockholm or Stokholm.

And here's the Danish TV contest she was on to find stars of a musical (it's equally as bizarre as her X Factor audition - Coldplay soundtracking a murder scene!).
Those two songs i'm charting - including the Pat Benatar cover - are on her debut album as Vidoo which is currently unavailable in UK. She worked on it with mega-huge composer Russ Ballard (known for Kiss, Frida, Hot Chocolate).
And if she doesn't cover Kerli's Walking On Air for the live shows there's something wrong!

I'd seen people on UKMix charting her (Carla Cappa is her full name that she no longer uses for music) but hadn't heard a song to hook me. Now another song - charting lower - featured in the Forum Song Contest made me more curious and this is her greatest one. Nice slinky synthpop - not unlike Bonnie McKee's Easy which drops off my chart this week. Of course the phrase "i'm good" means "no, thank you, i'm fine as i am" in American speak.
