Two for the price of one here. Both are from 1990 and were released on the Warp record label. And both are excellent dance tracks. Both are possibly remembered by those of us who were into dance music in 1990 but they seem to be largely forgotten by everyone else.
Tricky Disco - Tricky Disco (#14, August 1990)
LFO - LFO (#12, August 1990)

This still sounds pretty fresh, Driza Bone 'Real Love'.

Definitely borrowing some influence from Janet Jackson, Pebbles' 'Girlfriend'.

^ that Driza Bone song still sounds brilliant. As does this long forgotten song by China Crisis. Not an official top 40 hit, it only reached number 46 back in June 1983, but it did get to number 40 on the NME charts so it gets an honoury mention here!

Despite half-a-century of iconic recordings, this is Iggy Pop's only ever US hit. Yet it wasn't that big a hit here, missing the top 40, which is a bit of a surprise given the UK has always been more receptive to the Igster, giving him two top tens (one with Death In Vegas) and a top 10 album. Oh, and also because it's a brilliant single, one of the best one-off duets I can recall.

Thanks to it being mentioned in Gezza's 1997 sales thread, a great record that should have done much better than a number 37 peak

This must be an almost forgotten hit. Back to July 1978, a number 16 hit. It's also an excellent song and is also nearly forgotten song. It's by The Saturday Night Band and is called 'Come On Dance, Dance'

Sounding suspiciously similar to 'Too Blind To See It', this is Kym Sims' 'Take My Advice'.

So many deleted videos.. my earler one was probably "Blossoms Falling" by Ooberman. I entered that as my 1999 entry to Time Machine where it came 10th out of 19 so bang in the middle. All the songs that finished above it were bigger hits, but so were some of those that finished below it.
Fastball - The Way was also the only top 40 hit for them in the UK, this also reached #1 in my chart in 1998.
In my chart though they have had more hits. "You're An Ocean" reached #5 in my chart and the wonderful Elvis Costello-esque "I Will Never Let You Down" reached #2 in my chart in 2017.

Rixton - Me and My Broken Heart Must be one for a Pointless 0 answer for UK number one singles. This Maroon 5 sounding, Rob Thomas thieving number one literally went and disappeared. I never even realised they even had other charting singles until I just looked it up. It was catchy, but they vanished shortly after, and if it wasn’t for the sake of sticking my iTunes on shuffle today, I wouldn’t have remembered they existed either.
One of those "how dare they get to #1 when they were only my favourite act's support band..." yes I saw them twice as support act to Tich before they got a #1. And what did she achieve? One #23 hit.

This one came up randomly earlier, and was surprisingly well-received (by me!):

A song that randomly popped in my head earlier tonight. It spent one week inside the top 40 (#38) in June 2008
