Dimitri Payet what a goal that was.

I agree Payet scored a stunner, Romania gave us a good game as well, but I still can't see France winning the tournament just yet, after a rocky start in the first half. Overall it was a great opening game, Romania should qualify from this group though, they just have to beat Albania and Switzerland.

Decent opening game. Payet better have a few off days or he might be off for 50m+

Well we truly f***ed that up in the last dying minute, there goes our 3 points. It was a game of pure frustration especially with all the chances we had in the first half and just couldn't find the net. but hey ho that's football, need to win our last 2 games, and that free kick was awesome, great goal.

We need to work out how to finish a cross. If that was Germany playing with those chances they'd been 4-0 before Russia scored.

If we were going to change our style and put 300 crosses into the box then why leave the best headerer of a ball in the world at home. No doubt about it we woulda easily won 3-0
We played really well upto a point. I'm beginning to think Kane might not be good enough, he certainly shouldn't be taking free kicks and corners. Wouldn't mind of Vary is given a game through the middle

Very disappointing result for England. However, we have seen the story many times before.
Good show by Wales.

Not good to hear about the in stadium violence from the Russian supporters. Russia is known for thuggery in stadia and from what I read this could be pre planned.

England's opening game record in major tournaments:
Played 23, won 5, drawn 11, lost 7

England played well for most of the match. However, completely predictable that a team full of Spurs players would bottle it at the finish.
I don't understand why anyone sensible would travel to England's matches at major tournaments in continental Europe. England fans are always the target of mass thuggery. The only reason you would put yourself in the way of this is if you fancy joining in with the violence.

The last thing the EU remain campaign needed was this blatant hatred for English people from French, Italian and Russians. For some its just another reason to say too hell with it.

It's not against english people. We know that hooligans are a minority. But french authorities have underestimated them and the russians hooligans. What happens yesterday have nothing to do with england. Or with football.

The last thing the EU remain campaign needed was this blatant hatred for English people from French, Italian and Russians. For some its just another reason to say too hell with it. I would say the last thing the Brexit campaign needed was for the facts that those English hooligans were singing songs in praise of Boris Johnson & Nigel Farage; and anti EU songs; and worst of all a pro ISIS song. Still well done to the French police for handling these largely intelligent far right thugs in such an impressive manner. Hence I have little sympathy for those attacked by their Russian equivalents inside and outside the stadium. As for Hodgson selecting a team significantly made up of Tottenham Hotspur players who choked a two horse title race to finish third in the PL; whilst selecting no Leicester City players.... Still more in my local are coming around to my opinion that Kane should not be playing for England because his free kicks and corners are atrocious (a 41 year old David Beckham would have been better last night); whilst he is clearly knackered after a long season up front.

Whilst every country has hooligans and cause a bit of trouble the Marseille ultras have been organising planned and systematic attacks on the English. Not the Swiss, not Romanians but English youtu.be/tYotY58fhoIVideo evidence of gangs of French hooligans attacking English fans unprovoked, French authorities confirming that there are organised Russian gangs in Marseille, video evidence of Russian fans attacking English fans in the stadium after the match yesterday, French police standing yards away letting stewards try and deal with it, staying away from the trouble in the city and then firing tear gas at England fans who had grouped together after they'd been chases. One older gentlemen is fighting for hi's life after running away and been beaten by Russians whilst having a heart attack My mate is over there, he hasn't been in a fight in his life and said some French came in the pub with knives and said the Marseille ultras are targeting he English which they are and they were a Paris faction so hated Marseille Then Russians target the English. Again they didn't target any other nation. www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/russian-ultras-showed-no-mercy-8167517

Thought Wales were a bit fortunate to win but really pleased they won and a former Royal scored the winning goal (showing again that he is a big match player). Generally I don’t think Reading fans are too fussed about Robson-Kanu leaving, (and he was always going to leave unless we went up really), he’s been our most frustratingly inconsistent player for the last 3 years, but last season was one of his better seasons. Think he scored or assisted 10 goals despite missing a good chunk of the season through injury, so I think we’ll miss him. I expect him to be at a Prem club next season. As for England, obviously disappointed. Before yesterday I thought Russia were probably the weakest team in the group and I saw nothing yesterday to change my mind. We deserved to win that game comfortably, clearly we’re doomed never to win the opening game of a European Championship I was nervous at the end but never really felt like Russia were going to score, which brings me back to what I said after the Australia game. We concede goals even when it doesn’t look likely. Putting the disappointment to one side, that’s one of the best England performances I’ve seen in the opening game of a tournament in the last 20 years (football didn’t register for me when England were in a tournament before that).
Before the tournament I would have taken a draw in the Wales game (with the Welsh part of me coming to the fore) although my head said probably England win even if I think it’s the toughest group game, but I never expected England to go into the game with less points than Wales. I’ll be putting my Welsh allegiance to one side and hoping that England win, it’s more important for England. Bit concerned about the rest of the group now, hope we don’t go into the Slovakia game needing to win as I expect Wales to beat Russia.

I'm just saying that it would have happen even if it was Deutischland or Italia. IT was a very sensitive match and it shouldn't have been organized in Marseille, wich is a troubled city in connexion with russian mafia. Knowing that, the french authorities have clearly underestimated what would happen. There is always violence with ultras of Marseille. That's why a lot of their games are played without supporters from the other teams.

I fear for the Ukraine game in Marseille whilst full of Russian Ultras too
It was widely reported this would happen 6 month ago. These Russian yobs and Marseille Ultras planned it all in public on social media so to not be prepared is beyond belief.

Did you miss Liverpool attacking the Villereal team bus a few week's previously? Funny I don't think I've heard you mention that www.ooyuz.com/geturl?aid=11606398We get it you have an agenda and a biased opinion on almost everything. That doesn't change the fact 1000s of innocent people are being targeted by French and Russian ultras. I'm the first to condemn Brits abroad when it's their fault
