Rain has absolutely ruined the 2nd test with a draw looking a formality for the last three days. It ensures England's unbeaten run in home test series will extend to seven years once we reach next summer.

We did finally get some play with England reaching 110-4 before the draw was officially confirmed.
The ICC should really take a look at a few things though. There have been too many instances this summer of play being stopped early for bad light, while it's been apparent for a long time that this match would be drawn - why not let the teams agree on the draw yesterday and use today as an exhibition limited overs match?

3rd test underway at the Rose Bowl. England make one change with Archer replacing Curran.
A very good day for England with Zak Crawley hitting his first test century, ending the day on 171 not out, with Buttler unbeaten on 87 - a partnership of 205 for the 5th wicket. England scored at a much quicker rate than we've seen recently, closing on 332-4.

Brilliant batting by Crawley and Buttler and then Jimmy Anderson takes 3 wickets!

That was the most one-sided day of Test cricket I can recall. Its not that Pakistan were especially bad. Its just that England were completely on fire.

Outstanding day for England. Crawley turns his maiden century into a double hundred. Nice sportsmanship by the Pakistan players who ran over one-by-one to congratulate him on his innings as he made his way off the field. Brilliant from Buttler as well, making not just his highest Test score but the highest score of his career in any format.
Anderson then tore through Pakistan's top order. Every chance they could be following on tomorrow and England will be looking to wrap things up with a day to spare.

I've had a feeling since the test started that the rain forecast for the last two days may play a part, and it still might. Insane from England on the first couple of days especially, and awesome to see a Kent player doing so well!

So after the final test (in which Jimmy Anderson became the first fast bowler to take 600 test wickets) was drawn, it's on to the T20 series against Pakistan today. All three matches are at Old Trafford.

After the first T20 against Pakistan was abandoned, the second game is today and it's live on BBC! It's the first live cricket BBC have had on TV since 1999.

After the T20 series against Pakistan finished 1-1, England pull off a dramatic victory in the first T20 against Australia, winning by 2 runs after the Aussies were cruising at 124-1, chasing 163.

England begin a 2-Test series in Sri Lanka tomorrow with a much-changed line-up from what we saw last summer.
The squad is: Joe Root Moeen Ali James Anderson Jonny Bairstow Dom Bess Stuart Broad Jos Buttler Zak Crawley Sam Curran Ben Foakes Dan Lawrence Jack Leach Dom Sibley Olly Stone Chris Woakes Mark Wood
Standby list: James Bracey Mason Crane Saqib Mahmood Craig Overton Matthew Parkinson Ollie Robinson Amar Virdi
Moeen Ali tested positive on arrival in Sri Lanka and misses the 1st test and Chris Woakes is in isolation. Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer aren't part of the squad, Rory Burns is on paternity leave and Ollie Pope is injured so there will be some new faces in the team. Batsman Dan Lawrence looks likely to make his debut and England are likely to go with two spinners, meaning Jack Leach is set to play for the first time in over a year, along with Dom Bess.
The first day's play gets underway at 4:30am UK time.

Excellent first day for England, bowling Sri Lanka out for just 135, despite the home side winning the toss. It was the lowest ever 1st innings score at Galle. Kusal Mendis' duck was his fourth in a row, having had a nightmare series in South Africa recently.
Stuart Broad took 3-20 (doubling the total number of wickets he'd taken in tests in Sri Lanka) before the spinners took over as expected, with Dom Bess taking for 5-30 and Jack Leach getting one as well as a run out, as England capitalised on some woeful Sri Lanka batting.
England lost Zak Crawley and Dom Sibley early in their 1st innings but an unbeaten century partnership between Joe Root (who hit his 50th test fifty) and Jonny Bairstow guided them 127-2 at the close.
England team: Crawley, Sibley, Bairstow, Root, Lawrence, Buttler, Curran, Bess, Leach, Wood, Broad

Was it a case of England were really good, or Sri Lanka were really woeful?
It felt like more of the latter on the batting front.

Was it a case of England were really good, or Sri Lanka were really woeful? It felt like more of the latter on the batting front. Almost certainly the latter but there have been plenty of occasions over the years when England's batsmen have made the opposition look good, so we'll take it.

Fightback by Sri Lanka on day 3 after England's lower order collapsed. Joe Root made 228 (his 4th double hundred in tests) but England went from 372-4 to 421 all out. Sri Lanka finished on 156-2 with openeer Lahiru Thirimanne unbeaten on 76.

A draw from the jaws of victory? Or can our bowlers regain control tomorrow?

A draw from the jaws of victory? Or can our bowlers regain control tomorrow? A draw seems unlikely. Even if Sri Lanka bat out day 4, England should have a reachable target. It'll be a case of whether Sri Lanka can bowl them out cheaply on the final day to win. The only chance of a draw will be if Sri Lanka manage to keep batting into the final day.

England close to victory, needing just 36 more runs on the final day. Sri Lanka were all out for 359, with Jack Leach taking 5-122. That set England just 74 to win but there was a wobble, with three wickets going down before the close, including Joe Root, who was controversially run out after colliding with the bowler. Jonny Bairstow and Dan Lawrence guided England from 14-3 to 38-3 at the close.
