21 A New Flame - Simply Red
This top 20 must be terrible if I have this #21, I really think I am being kind but it cant be higher.

22 Something's Jumpin' In Your Shirt (with Malcolm McLaren & The Bootzilla Orchestra)
No doubt someone will be on here calling this genius, its like everything Malcolm McLaren does is brilliant just because of who he was/is.Oh dear.
No he doesn't, but this is brilliant.

20 Me So Horny - 2 LIVE CREW
We all knew about this band in the UK but they never crossed over to the Uk charts, they were very notorious at the time but playing this now, its pretty tame compared to your average modern hip hop song.

There are a few terrible songs to come, I'd put "French Kiss" as the worst big hit of 1989, I mean, why would anyone want to buy that, it's just a loop?

19 Every Day (I Love You More) - Jason Donovan
An middling Donovan song, not hooky, not embarassingly bad just there.

Every day I love you more is a terrible song - as I said, I could take the best 12 songs of Stock Aitken Waterman and discard all the rest and you'd think they were great songwriters, but the problem is that there were so many bad songs out there too.
Donna Summer's 2 big hits will of course avoid this list. Not sure about Cliff but if he hasn't featured yet he surely won't.

18 I Just Don't Have the Heart - - Cliff Richard
This is actually better than JD and Sinitta, I guess I have it so high as I was Cliff really, you as well....but it is actually a decent song.

16 When You Come Back to Me - Jason Donovan
Its just 'Too Many Broken Hearts' again but a fraction as good, just completely pointless.

Trying to a make another New Edition, this Motown group, just had one hit and vanished, they didnt even make the UK. Total Bobby Brown knock off.

14 I Only Wanna Be With You - Samantha Fox
Sam is back and this time with a terrible PWL cover, I think this was huge in the US if I remember right. They didnt even know where she came from, dont know which is worse, knowing or not knowing.

13 I'll Be Loving You (Forever) - New Kids On The Block
This might be divisive, I think this ballad had some fans but to me its painful but at least its a Jordan vocal but sorry its agony listening to this.

Samantha Fox did one good song "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" which was a top 5 hit in the USA and only scraped the top 40 here, that in 1988.
Touch Me was also a hit in the USA, and they did know where she was from, as I remember seeing it on MTV there in 1986.

Nothing to redeem this, it's far worse than the others.

12 Homely Girl - UB40
I really dont know where to start. When this song was done in the past, it might have been a different time, so ok reggae originial but you are still on dodgy ground. But in 1989 its hardly 'me too' yet but this song felt wrong to me then and this video just made it even worse. Filling it with beautiful models and giving them ugly face glasses please!. Its not funny and its not clever and thia song and UB40 on this are awful. I just think UB40 totally dont get anything right here at all.

"I Only Wanna Be With You" was very predictable # 1 in my chart.
My bottom 2 of 1989 are "Lambada" and "Pump Up The Jam".

I meant page 3, it was never ever mentioned in their press and definitely not by Casey Kasem. So did they mention it on MTV US fair enough.

11 Help - Bananarama, Lananeeneenoonoo - Help!
Again this probably has fans as well, as Comic Relief records go its one of the better ones but It just was too annoying. It was funny the first couple of times I saw the video and that was all I wanted.
