I did that, I had my own name when I was about 7 (I think it was Mark, #7) but the only proper players I've had was Michael Dawson, and he was sold to Spurs around 3 months later...

I think Reading would be wise cashing in on shorey and buying 2 or 3 good players for the new season. Don't know where you get the idea that we'll be buying 2 or 3 new players with any money from the Shorey deal from! Coppell has said that we'll only be signing players to replace any that leave, as he wants to reduce the size of the squad, which to be fair probably is too big for the Championship. So far we've only signed one player, Noel Hunt, and that was to replace Kitson. Promisingly though Coppell has said we've got a target in mind to replace Shorey, but we can't sign him yet as Shorey isn't definitely leaving... We definitely need to sign a right winger after Little's shock departure, and after Oster was released, although i'm quickly coming to the conclusion that may not happen.. The current squad should be good enough for the Top 6 anyway, and if everyone's firing then Top 2 isn't out of the equation either.

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head.

Didn't Gutierrez look good today? Looks like an astute buy for Newcastle.
From his first few minutes (I'm watching MOTD2), looks like Deco will fit in at his new franchise - dirty player!

Busy time for Reading while I was away, with 2 in and 1 out.
The first signing a couple of weeks ago was David Mooney, a striker from Cork, for a fee believed to be 200k. Why we needed a 5th striker (6th if you include Simon Church currently on loan at Wycombe) I have no idea, but Mooney has been having an excellent season with 15 goals in 22 games for Cork. That takes our signings from Cork to 5 over the years, from Joe Gamble who made a handful of 1st team appearances under Pardew and who i always thought had come through our academy but is now back at Cork, to Doyle/Long/Bennett and Mooney of the current squad. It remains to be seen how much Mooney will play though. We signed Bennett in Jan 2007 and he's still to make his debut for the club in a competitive first team match, and he probably never will!
The 2nd signing last week was left-back Chris Armstrong from Sheffield United for 500k rising to 800k based on success and appearances. Reckon a Championship defender with Premiership experience for 500k is a decent bit of business by the club and he'll be a 1st team regular this season as the (long-awaited) replacement for Shorey.
Then finally on Friday night came the news that we'd sold Sonko to Stoke for 2m. This came completely out of the blue as only a couple of weeks earlier after scoring both the goals in our 2-0 win over Plymouth he'd said he's now fully committed to the club after the business at the end of last season when he refused to play in a reserve game, and also saying over the summer that he needed a fresh start. We may have a lot of cover at centre-back but I'm still sad to see him go. He may have been a complete liability last season, but he had seemed to have re-discovered his old form that helped him to become known as "Superman", although he was poor in his final game at Charlton which came immediately after a meaningless Senegal friendly in Libya 3 days earlier which he travelled out for but played no part in, which may have had an effect. But I was expecting him to be a key player this season.
