Is this series being shown on British tv this year ?
I'm very annoyed that Five has dropped its coverage of NASCAR.
Anybody follow World Touring Cars ? On the evidence of the first round last weekend, it could be a very dull series, given Seat's total domination, and BMW's big cutbacks.

I think Sky Sports are still showing Indycars but I don't know if there any terrestrial coverage. Five have dropped all their late-night sports coverage now. It was originally planned last year at some point but had a stay of execution to allow them to show one more season of NFL.

Some late additions to the Indycar line-up:
Britain's Alex Lloyd will drive for Dale Coyne. Graham Rahal is to drive Sarah Fisher's car at road/street races, starting from Round 2 in St. Petersburg. Mario Moraes has been given the final seat at KV ahead of James Rossiter.
In total, 24 cars are entered for this weekend's opening race.
Number of drivers per country: Brazil - 7 Great Britain - 5 USA - 3 Australia - 2 Japan - 2 Venezuela - 2 Canada - 1 New Zealand - 1 Switzerland - 1
4 women are entered for the race, which must be some sort of record.

Result from Round 1 of the Indycar Series in Sao Paulo:
(grid positions in brackets)
1. Will Power (5) 2. Ryan Hunter-Reay (4) 3. Vitor Meira (16) 4. Raphael Matos (12) 5. Dan Wheldon (18) 6. Scott Dixon (7) 7. Dario Franchitti (1) 8. Mike Conway (19) 9. Helio Castroneves (9) 10. Tony Kanaan (6) 11. Justin Wilson (3) 12. EJ Viso (17) 13. Ana Beatriz (22) 14. Ryan Briscoe (8) 15. Danica Patrick (13) 16. Simona de Silvestro (11) ret Mario Romancini (20) ret Alex Lloyd (15) ret Alex Tagliani (2) ret Hideki Mutoh (14) ret Milka Duno (24) ret Takuma Sato (10) ret Marco Andretti (21) ret Mario Moraes (23)
Notes: The race was red flagged for 36 minutes halfway through due to a thunderstorm. It eventually became a 2-hour timed race with 61 of the 75 scheduled laps being completed. Power passed Hunter-Reay for the lead with 3 laps to go. Just 4 laps earlier, Briscoe had gone into the tyre barrier while leading. Qualifying was moved back to Sunday morning so organisers could work on the main straight which had a severe lack of grip on Saturday. Simona de Silvestro became the first rookie to lead on their debut since Graham Rahal in 2008. She led for 4 laps after staying out when most of the field pitted. Takuma Sato crashed out at the first corner.
Round 2 is another street race in St. Petersburg in 2 weeks.

Danica and Raphael both did well. Decent result for Danica considering her p*ss-poor record away from ovals (just 2 podium finishes, I think). Simona de Silvestro has been going well for a rookie. She could get a big result at some point this year. Sato's had a shocking start to his Indycar career, crashing out of both races.

Quite amused at the fact he's managed a grand total of 24 laps in his 2 races so far. The prospect of him racing on the ovals is slightly worrying...

Anyone who's a fan of single seater racing might want to check out Superleague Formula which starts this weekend for its third season at Silverstone. The premise and marketing behind it is fundamentally flawed (drivers represent football clubs instead of racing teams) but the racing was excellent last season, and they are very powerful cars. And the field is very respectable indeed, including former F1 drivers Bourdais, Montagny and (whisper it) Karthikeyan, former Virgin tester Alvaro Parente, and up and coming talent such as Marcos Martinez, Max Wissel and Julien Jousse.
There are three races tomorrow live on ESPN or streamed on their website (http://www.superleagueformula.com/). First is at 11am and the 2nd and 3rd from 2pm. It's well worth watching.

I was looking at the line-up for that a couple of weeks ago and was very surprised at how strong it is.
In my mind I've been trying to work out some sort of pecking order for single-seater racing and was wondering where this would fit in, compared to GP2, F2 and World Series by Renault/Nissan/whatever it's called this year.
Disappointed that there's no Ricardo Rosset in the Accrington Stanley car...

I'm not sure Superleague fits anywhere actually. Much like A1GP, it's specific purpose is not to train up young talent for F1; it's purpose is to encourage football fans into motorsport. No F1 teams have shown much interest in Rigon or Valles who have won the first two Superleagye seasons, and there are a lot of F1 has-beens involved.
In terms of some single seater order, GP2 is clearly second behind F1, then probably World Series by Renault and F3 Euroseries closely matched behind that. GP3 launches this year, and that's probably going to follow behind those two. F2 has become a complete joke this year and is some way behind that, alongside the national F3 championships and Formula Master if it runs this year.
