Biffy Clyro - Mountains
The Scottish rockers are back with Mountains. It's a very pleasant single, but it may not rekindle the success that Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies had for them. Perhaps it should, as it is lyrically so simple and any Joe Bloggs can sing along, your only problem is trying to get it out of your head.

Mystery Jets - Half In Love With Elizabeth
Yet another upbeat single from the Jets, following the releases of Two Doors Down and Young Love. It just hasn’t got the same catchiness of the last two singles, which is a real shame. Still, it is a very respectable single, but unlike one of their lyrics, let's hope their bubble doesn’t burst.

Sandi Thom - Saturday Night
Anyone remember wanting to be a punk rocker? Well she’s back, but wants to be on prime time instead, Saturday Night no less. Although the single still shows off her pretty and mellow vocals, with some da da da’s, it doesn’t have the same effect.

The Automatic - This Is A Fix
Now then, the Welsh rocker boys The Automatic are back after their début album, Not Accepted Anywhere, with This Is A Fix. Expecting more tracks like Recover and Monster? You may be in for a surprise.
From the out-set the intention of this new album is shown; a grown up, harder album with no pop like guitar solos or intros. It’s a real difference to Recover and Monster, and I feel it is a lot better. I wish I didn’t straight away see comparisons with Lostprophets, but when being welsh and a rock band, it’s hard not to.
This is obvious with the first single off the album, Steve McQueen, with the heavier beats and riffs. Oh, and, thankfully, they have lost the high pitched vocals and the strange computer aided accessories. Now a pure rock band has appeared, with very good consequences.
One thing that has stayed the same is the better then average lyrics that they write; from “what's that coming over the hill, is it a monster?" to “magazines tearing apart, pages just fall out”. What genius came up with those lyrics? Whoever it was knew that simple is best; the lyrics don't leave your head for absolutely ages, so congrats The Automatic on that!
This Is A Fix is a real grower of an album. It took several listens before I saw its true colour. It is just so different to Not Accepted Anywhere. So, the score out of 10? From starting at a lowly 4 or 5, it has steadily grown to a respectable 7, and maybe higher after a few more listens.
At time of writing: 7/10.

Metronomy - Heartbreaker
Another band within the The Feeling brackets. It is catchy, yet just doesn't have the most classy feel. Unfortunately it is a little repetitive.

Bryn Christopher - Smilin'
What a lovely change; a laid back, refreshing and chilling r and b single. A little like Lemar of old, yet just has a classy edge.

Rex the Dog - I Can See You, Can You See Me?
I Can See You, Can You See Me? reminds me of songs from the past, mainly from the 60's. If anything, it is bubble pop. It's a cheesy, yet very loveable single. I can see this becoming a favourite on the dance floors.

Royworld - Brakes
What can I say? Brakes is just a typical Royworld single: ok, but so forgettable. It's nowhere near as good as Dust. This is how forgettable it is: I just forgot I was listening to it.

Gym Class Heroes - Cookie Jar
Ok, please let me stop listening to this, it's torture. No-one cares if you have your hand stuck in a Cookie Jar, or even if you like girls. I think everyone would have guessed that! Repetitive and ear-burstingly bad. Could I make it any more obvious that I don’t like this single?

Queen + Paul Rodgers - C-lebrity
Well, who would have thought that Queen would ever appear on the new singles out this week list? Well here they are with new vocalist Paul Rodgers, who must be the bravest man in music. Who would want to follow the legendary Freddie Mercury? I have one problem; why is the famous band lowering itself by using text language in its title, C-Lebrity? Anyway, it starts with an absolutely fantastic guitar intro (what else would you expect?) and there is so much life in the track. Breath-taking.

Sigur Rós - Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur
Another awe-inspiring named single from this fantastic Icelandic band. For those who haven’t yet mastered Icelandic, the Inní Mér Syngur Vitleysingur translates to “Within Me A Madman Sings.” Yet again, Sigur Rós have created a spiritual track that just draws you in.

Sonny J - Can't Stop Moving (Mirwais Remix)
First thing to be asked: what's the difference between the original and the remix, because I have no idea?! Anyway, this is one of those tunes you hope you won’t like, but it is actually OK, which is good, because it is so catchy. You will be dancing to this for weeks to come. It is definitely a different style of house music, which isn’t repetitive.

Flo Rida feat. Will.i.am and Fergie - In The Ayer
Arrrgh! Three of my least favourite artists (Flo Rida, Will.i.am and Fergie) have just joined together. First of all it is air, not ayer. Secondly, it is so repetitive. Third and finally; I can’t listen to it the whole way through, my ears just can’t cope.

Iglu & Hartly - In This City
The debut single from the Californian band; it sounds a little reminiscent of Linkin Park, especially Bleed It Out. It has the very catchy chorus, with sections of rap, or put simply, quicker tempo speech. An average single, I would wait for the album which is due next week.

Moby - Disco Lies
This is the new single from the American DJ Richard Melville Hall; better known to most as Moby. It is an uplifting, dance/house anthems, no undoubtedly will be turning up as a very popular dance floor tune. Unlike many dance floor tunes, it’s not a repetitive bore if played on mainstream radio, so dance detesters, do not worry.

Steve Mac - Paddy's Revenge
Before I start let me make one thing clear, I will be slightly biased to this song, it does have my name in the title! But even so, even if I had no attachment to "Paddy" I would still give it the same review. A classic from the beginning, a pure get up and go single, with dance moves already created for it! It can be listened to at any time of day, in any state of body or mind and will still have the same effect.

Kings of leon - Sex on Fire
I've never been the largest Kings of Leon fan, but Sex on Fire has really caught my ear. It is a very simple yet very effective and addictive single. Full of great guitar riffs and good lyrics; combine these and you have a very nice mix.

The Feeling - Join With Us
The Feeling release another catchy and uplifting single. A very memorable chorus, with very intriguing sounds used within this single, which make it unique from other mediocre bands that litter the charts.

Flobots - Handlebars
Don't know how to describe this band, they aren’t rap or hip-hop or even urban, but a mix of them all. But one thing for sure, it is very good. This single lyrically deep and also has a catchy tune. This is a rare song that contains very true feelings, with a large meaning to it.

Ladytron - Runaway
Ladytron, not a household name, but have been around the industry for many years. They have produced another highly synthesised electronica single; it shows good progression compared to some previous singles. Good beat, nice little lyrics and catchy.
