I wish it was Christmas I thought Neville was the best pundit by a long way, huge loss for them, if he succeeds at Valencia I have no doubt he will be a future England manager (who is the alternative? Gareth Southgate)

He had actually become an ok pundit on Sky. They will see that as a big loss. In other news, you can wath Salford v Hartlepool on Frdiay night or you can watch Ipswich v Middlesbrough. Panda will you be watching? I don't have Sky so I will be watching BBC v Hartlepool if I'm at home. I might be out anyway, though.

So, with four weeks to go, the number of league clubs with the same manager they had on January 1 is now down to 45 out of 92.

BBC have done a feature on a non league player who has scored 50 goals already this season! I like the fact that they fail to mention his drink drive ban, which is why a lot of clubs wont sign him, because he wont be able to get to training and matches. Incredible feat though, even at that level, it's the same as my team Knaresborough Town www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34997314

When does his DQ for drink driving end? If the team are promoted and he keeps his scoring going he will be snapped up once the DQ has ended.

Worksop in the higher league were looking at him, but were put off by the ban, not sure how long it was, probably ends at the end of the season. Be interesting to see if he can stay fit. What's great as well, is the rest of their team have scored 60+ goals!

Yes 112 goals scored so far. Wonder what their GD is. Take it they are top of the league currently?

Take it they are top of the league currently? 5th by a long way, they've had games where they've scored 10+ goals 3 times I think, so that upps theirs goals. www.ncefl.org.uk/teams/afcemley/matches/2015/That's a link to their results. Table on the right, they're in div.1.

Table on the right, they're in div.1. There's a team in that league who have shipped 119 goals already! Their results at the start of November were 5-6*, 3-6, 1-6. So they lost November in straight sets. * - having been 6-4 down.

While we're on non-league, my local village team, Twyford and Ruscombe, had to move out of the village recently because the council decided to almost triple the cost of hiring the field. They're currently bottom of the Thames Valley League Division 3 and without a win all season (0-5-5), although they did manage to draw their last two games.
They're in Step 10 of the non-league pyramid.

They weren't far off conference with Gainsborough Trinity before they self destructed.

Retford United were always punching way above their weight with small grounds and little income, it's my home town, so I was pleased to see them doing well after Retford Town went bust in the 80s. But I think NCEL/Evostick north is their limit really.

MM needs to learn to to change formation or tactics, we have no plan B and carry on naively pumping the ball upfield and lose on the counter attacks. Need pace at the back.

I wish it was Christmas I thought Neville was the best pundit by a long way, huge loss for them, if he succeeds at Valencia I have no doubt he will be a future England manager (who is the alternative? Gareth Southgate) Yea, he was great on Sky. When I heard the news I honestly thought there was a mistake and it was actually Phil Neville taking over given that he was already there. The cynical part of me thinks that they wanted to give him the job but couldn't as he doesn't have the necessary qualifications, whereas Gary has his Pro Licence.
Steve Clarke sacked at Reading. After they lost last night to QPR, I said to Sam, he's next to go, didn't think he actually would though! Only found out when someone at work told me today I think they've been looking for a reason to sack him since the Fulham stuff. Aforementioned guy at work actually said to me yesterday he wouldn't last the season, but he would already have been sacked by then! One of the guys on the fans podcast thought he wouldn't last the season either, doubt even he thought he'd be gone this quickly though. Shocked how quickly things have changed in the last couple of months, still thought we were promotion contenders then. It's not even as if we deserved to lose to QPR on Thursday. Not really sure how I feel about the decision though, but it's going to be interesting to see who we appoint.

Nigel Pearson is favourite, as he was when it looked like Clarke was going to Fulham a few weeks ago. I don't like him but respect what he did at Leicester. And focusing just on the Championship that's in complete contrast to what i thought when Steve Clarke was appointed! (Clarke had zero Champ experience but I liked him from day 1...until the Fulham stuff since when I haven't been bothered).
An interesting contender is apparently Dennis Bergkamp...Not as random as it first appears, we apparently considered him before appointing Clarke. I do wonder if he would be more interested in playing the kids than Clarke on the whole was.
