Bournemouth need a new goalkeeper That's probably been the oddest part of Bournemouth's season so far for me. Both Boruc and Federici starred, albeit at a lower level, last season and both have struggled so far. I accept that Federici needs to prove himself in the Premier League, but part of the problem in his last season there was that he wasn't fit at the start of the season and he never really recovered. Found his best form after Alex McCarthy's injury before being injured again, and then struggled again when he returned. But he's now 30 entering his peak years as a keeper and I thought he was ready to at least do an ok job when selected for Bournemouth.

Wasn't he dropped at Celtic for a time. They've got a good number 2 in Adam federici. Unless he's injured. As said on motd they have to alter playing style for home away and opponent. But Norwich are just as bad letting as many goals. Yeah I just saw buroc on motd. My god. Don't think I have seen a worse gk performance, it was like somwone down their lcoal park when there concentration has gone. Sure I saw howe shake his head and say "I'm dropping him". After shipping 10 in 2 games and today he made 10+ unforced errors I wouldn't be surprised Federici actually played in the first of those 2 games! (5-1 defeat to City). Edit - As frag said! He had a poor game but considering it was his first league game of the season when he wasn't expecting to play, Boruc was injured in the warm-up, can't say I was surprised. Had a solid game against Liverpool in the league cup but looked unconvincing against Southampton a week ago and seemed to me to be at fault for the goal against Newcastle over the weekend.

I certainly felt he should have done more with the Newcastle goal. He barely touched the ball, but surely should have been expected to push it wide. It was frustrating to see Bournemouth getting 20 shots to Newcastle's 2, 18 corners to nil, but still lose.

I don't believe what I'm watching here. Sunderland are 1-0 up at Crystal Palace. The one time I could have done with our ex manager (well, one of them!) and ex star player doing us a favour, they are letting us down!

A brief mention for another local team, Southern League Poole Town. They travelled to Histon this evening. After 17 minutes, they were 5-0 up. They relaxed a bit after that, and only won 7-0.

I don't remember them playing a PL team on TV, but they did beat Leeds (then in what I still think of as the third tier) in the Cup. It was reported as a huge shock, but, in reality, they were only two divisions apart.

Gary Neville has been appointed head coach of Valencia. Brother Phil is expected to stay on the coaching staff at the club.
This means that Friday's Salford v Hartlepool Cup tie is no longer a Sky Sports derby. On a more serious note, it's an interesting appointment. If he succeeds, will it be Man U or England next?

And the owner of Valencia is Peter Lim - the same Peter Lim who's helping the Class of 92 bankroll Salford City...

I'd be watching the cup match if I wasn't taking my daughter climbing and then picking my son up from his pub job Lots of managers got the heave ho recently in the football league.

I hope Hartlepool hammer Salford, I've really disliked how the BBC have sucked up to them over the last few weeks. Some of the other non-league teams deserved a little more exposure
