Goodness, we've scored again. Now please let us get a third as we'll probably go for the second half version of our "conceding a goal just before half time"...

Finished 4-1 in the end. Disappointed with the 2nd half but not with the result as I thought we'd get thrashed. Our result on Saturday wasn't much better than Newcastle's so it's not like we were coming into it in form. Still think it's very early days too, there's a huge difference to where both teams will end up this season. 442's predictions had Newcastle 1st and Reading 21st,justified for Newcastle and optimistic for us as we've sold Norwood who they had as our key player...
Mate who is a Newcastle fan watched the game on a stream and said the score flattered Newcastle and it was actually a close game, which is definitely a positive. So maybe we can stay up this season...

I've seen the highlights of the game and, as you've posted, it was a lot closer than the 4-1 score line suggests. I'm just glad we won, three defeats in a row would have been depressing!

Stags have had a good start, last game had 10 men for 80 minutes and still dominated and won 1-0! I expect it will unravel at Plymouth at the weekend as we rare,y get anything there!

Was told last night that he's turned down a new contract at Blackburn and Brighton have made an offer. Last night suggests he must be very unsettled!

Interesting about the stream, my mates not in the country so maybe it wasn't possible to watch in the UK. If that is the case then I'm glad as not in the country myself (different place to mate) and I was a bit miffed at the thought I might have been able to see it back home!

Hilarious to hear the chorus of boos ringing around the Emirates Stadium yesterday. Where do Arsenal get these so-called fans from ? And how many years need to pass before they realise they have no god given right to win every match they play ? That would be the idiotic management for you. It was clear that we needed improvements in defence even before Mertesacker's injury (4 weeks or so ago), and once Gabriel also suffered an injury, we had one senior centre back, but still a week until the start of the season. There is a quality defender available at a reasonable price, and we have tons of money to spare, but we're apparently still haggling over a few million quid. Meanwhile, after struggling to score goals for much of the second half of the season, and trying and failing to sign Vardy in early June, we're still no closer to signing a striker. You'd think that the team that finished second last season would show a bit more ambition. People are tired of the same old story over and over. People are tired with the manager and board showing a staggering lack of ambition. People are tired of the stunning lack of mental strength that the team shows in capitulations like this. You're right that we don't have the right to win every match that we played, but if we at least tried to compete at the level we're capable of, then (a) this sort of performance would be less likely, and (b) I daresay the fans would be more forgiving. My only hopes for this season are that we somehow finish in the top 4, and that Wenger leaves by the end of it.

Two wins in a row for Newcastle and our first away win since last year:
Bristol City 0 Newcastle 1
Again, it wasn't the best of performances by us but it's 3 points and I suppose at the end of the day that is what matters the most.
The attendance was 22,512, the biggest Bristol City have had at Ashton Gate for 26 years.

Three wins in a row! Newcastle 2 Brighton 0. While we were never totally convincing we always looked in control. Three points matters more than the performance and we certainly delivered. Up to 4th now, Rafa has certainly got us playing!

I'm very pleased the Stags scored a late late winner at Leyton Orient, not a place we often get points, so a real bonus, and it's another 3 points towards safety

That's a pretty good effort at getting more goals than there were paying customers. I assume the goalkeepers found something better to do after the first 14 minutes.

My son always seems to find a stream to watch a match if he needs to, despite my warnings to him. Just coming back to this. Been given a link to download streamed matches. Apparently the Cardiff-Reading game was streamed yesterday (think it was the featured 3pm Championship game and they are always streamed), will be downloading that as it was a game worth watching, a pleasantly surprising result, and an 89th min winner always makes it a bit more satisfying!
On another note, got to mention Maidenhead top of the National South with 15 pts from 6 games. Early days and they've started well in the past and it's ended up meaning sod all, but I really thought they'd make the playoffs last season and they've conceded just 2 goals so far...
