I wouldn't worry too much. The West Ham board have a phobia of allowing a manager control and Benitez would demand control
Although Benitez did agree to take over West Ham a few year ago. He even shook on it but the Real Madrid job came up and he went back on his promise. Rumour is he might be keen to follow through on it if Ashley keeps playing stupid games

Ashley has already said that the transfer kitty is everything that the club generates in income from transfers out, season ticket sales, merchandise and I assume TV money. But he said the same last year and basically reneged on his promises with little in the way of transfer activity. Benitez is supposed to be sitting down with Ashley this week so perhaps this West Ham interest might have come at the right time if it gets Ashley to provide sufficient funds to strengthen the squad.

Raz Daz, do you have a cash out option, or never take it? Sam put a £1 bet on various promotions, think he's got 2 out of 5, and Villa was his 3rd, so they are in the final, he needs Rotherham to win tonight now, then he's on for £112. Oh and Salford City appointed Graham Alexander which sounds like a very good appointment? <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 18.74000000000001px; height: 4.280000000000001px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_46505881" scrolling="no" height="4.280000000000001" width="18.74000000000001"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 18.74px; height: 4.28px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 882px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_5699530" scrolling="no" height="4.280000000000001" width="18.74000000000001"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 18.74px; height: 4.28px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 153px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_16053891" scrolling="no" height="4.280000000000001" width="18.74000000000001"></iframe> <iframe style="position: absolute; width: 18.74px; height: 4.28px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 882px; top: 153px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_36874439" scrolling="no" height="4.280000000000001" width="18.74000000000001"></iframe> And Rotherham won 2-0 tonight...

Yeah think his cash out is only at £5.41, and I assume it will double if Exeter win tonight, and he has 3 teams in finals to come?

Yeah they are pretty stingey
I managed to lump the £60 od quid I had lying around on Athletico Madrid to win last night and Fulham promoted for £205
I never usually bet over £10 But the thinking is I have Villa in my season bet so whoever goes up from the Championship playoff final I win £205 or £502 now
Minus the £63.31 but if rather cover the bet and win less than win nothing

There's some sad news being reported on the news that former Aston Villa and Bolton player Jlloyd Samuel has died today in a car crash in Cheshire. Aged 37, he played for Villa for almost a decade from 1998 to 2007 before moving to Bolton for four years. While I hope Boro can climb a mountain to beat Villa tonight in the second leg of the semi final play-off for promotion to the Premier League it's going to be an emotionally charged atmosphere at Villa Park tonight. RIP. 2nd attempt at posting this...don't think I've missed anything out.
This was sad news to hear the other day, especially when they are a similar age to you, shows how short life can be. Was reminded when I heard the news that he played for Gillingham for a season, 2001-2002 IIRC. Obviously only young at the time but given that Gillingham were an established Championship side (or Division 1 as it was then) and with how his career panned out afterwards he must be one of the best defenders that's ever played for them. They also mentioned he played for Charlton too, which I hadn't realised before.
RIP.

Sadly Boro haven't reached the play off final. Villa have won on the away goal as the game ended up 0-0 tonight. Bah! But onwards and upwards and the final is now between Fulham v Aston Villa. I'm neutral about who I want to win so I hope it's a good final. Yeah I'm completely neutral. Craven Cottage is a ground i've wanted to see Reading play at for a while. From what I've heard or read, from literally anybody, neutrals (Andy springs to mind here), Reading fans, or fans of other clubs going to watch their team play, everyone seems to speak positively about it. It's also one of the few away grounds I don't think i'd have a problem getting a ticket for with their neutral area. I'd like to see us play Villa at home having missed it this season (which was probably the best home game of the season).
As for reasons for wanting them to go up, there does seem to be a dislike of Fulham, I think fans perceive them to be rather arrogant, but if they don't go up then Ryan Sessegon will surely leave and I think it would be better for him to stay at Fulham for at least one more season. I'd also be pleased for Steve Bruce (along with one of the players) if Villa went up.

Wow!
Brackley beat Bromley on penalties when they looked certain to lose in normal time and on penalties!

Wow! Brackley beat Bromley on penalties when they looked certain to lose in normal time and on penalties! Yep, Bromley conceded with just 19 seconds left and were also 4-2 up at one point in the shootout I think. Still can't believe they didn't win and doubt they'll have a better chance of winning the trophy, considering not just the above but also they were playing a lower division team. Looked like they completely filled the bottom two tiers. I know it wasn't far for the fans but pretty sure league teams haven't always taken that much, and it's not like Bromley are a big club at that level. Was impressive, and from a clip I saw sounded like they made a great atmosphere!

Yeah over 30000 there which is good, but I still say it should be played at a smaller neutral ground.

Looks like Unai Emery will be the new Arsenal manager.
My main emotion so far is relief that we haven't gone with a completely untested manager in Arteta. Plus, he's a serial Europa League winner, and has generally improved teams he has taken over. This is also promising:

I think he’ll be good for Arsenal. Really needs to focus on improving that defence this Summer though.

Im not convinced Emery is such a great manager, his Director of Football Monchi built Sevilla from nothing. Emery had no input during his time there
Yeah Emery won some cups but they also didnt win a single away game in a whole year under Emery, drawing nine times and losing ten. That is a success at Seville I'm not sure it would be celebrated as much at Arsenal. He does seem to lose the dressing room almost everywhere he goes as the big egos dominate and take over. Sadly Arsenal have too many ok players who think they are the bees knees, they go out on the drink before big games and pose on top of Lamboghini's. I'm not sure it's who Arsenal need. He doesn't sign his own players so Arsenal are at the mercy of someone behind the scenes regarding who is picking the new players and Emery doesnt speak English which is always a distraction. On paper he looks good but dig a bit deeper and it doesn't look so good

Aston Villa 0 Fulham 1
So that's Fulham promoted to the Premier League. The better team won, Villa just didn't really get going.
