52 Beck - Saw Lightning #4
Another brilliant hooky song, its like old skool Beck but with a huge chunk of Pharrel, just so catchy!

Ok top 50 time, every one of these songs is brilliant and we will start with
50 Hatchie — Obsessed #6
Yes its another shoegaze banger, its like all the best early 90s bands thrown in a pot, you hear the drone of MBV, the beats of Chapterhouse and the vocals of Slow Dive or Pale Saints and even a bit of New Order. Just the best of a whole genre, 'Keepsake' is one of my albums of the year as well.

49 Oddity Road - why am i like this ?
This was one of those three times in a row songs for me. I instantly fell for the youthful energy and again they remind me of early Feeder, Catfish or Ash. If they released another song in 2019, I apologise for missing it as I see big things for this band.

48 The 1975 - People #5
Hmm where do we start. I was blown away by it when I first heard it but then I realised I didn't actually like it that much but now 6 months later, I adore it! I totally get it now. I enjoyed the shock at first and I love it now. But year end its a poor finish for them.

47 Hot Milk - Take Your Jacket #3
According to Spotify they are my really vibed act of 2019, I can't say I disagree. Their mix of pop, hardcore and emo is just my sound of 2019!! And this very Paramore song is no exception.

46 Pale Waves - One More Time #4
And who were my most vibed act of 2018, yes Pale Waves! This is of course a repromoted grat but its good to still have them on the list in 2019.

45 Love Fame Tragedy - My Cheating Heart #4
LFT or Murph from Wombats has released a string of good songs in 2019 but none reached the heights of his debut. It is still very Wombats but its top notch! Love the Human League vibes with the backing vocals.

44 Swimming Girls - I Don't Wanna Get To Heaven #4
Even more 80s vibes from one of my favourite discoveries of 2019. You just need to hear the first minute to know its a Thorney favourite. If Pale Waves were less goth and listened to more synth pop, they would probably sound like this. Just a beautiful pop song and too think they have a song even better to come.

43 FOALS - The Runner #4
How brilliant have Foals been in 2019, yes my band of the year! This is the stand out song of Pt2, they just keep handing out ear worms.

42 Vampire Weekend - Harmony Hall #2
Vampire Weekend have never had a chart topper in my chart and this is their joint biggest hit with 'A Punk' that shows how much I love this, a different vibe but its just so good.

41 Georgia - Never Let You Go #1
Lightning really struck twice for Georgia in my chart in 2019, both times she entered below the top 75 and made it all the way to number one. She is one my favourite pop singers of 2019 and why is she not huge yet!? Ok she sounds like Robyn/Chvrches but that is a very good thing! She has another song still too come.

40 SWMRS: Trashbag Baby #2
Now one the catchiest pop punk songs of the year or really its more like skater punk, it is so damn catchy. I never expected it to go all the way to almost the top of my chart.

39 W. H. Lung - Second Death Of My Face #2
Now a bit of an oddity, I know very little about this Manchester band but I just fell in love with this song, its Brit Pop like Pulp or Auteurs meets Human League,OMD or Japan. I guess their closest contemporary would be Mystery Jets. This song would have been huge on radio of it was 1995 but now they just have a cult following.

38 Incubus - Into The Summer #3
No new album yet but this has to be the grooviest Incubus single is 'Are You In?' from the 'Morning View' era. Hope this is a sign of what we will get from them in 2020.

37 Sea Girls - Damage Done #2
Possibly their biggest song yet, this is as huge as the best from the Killers just a indie dancefloor monster!! This band need to be household names.

36 Biffy Clyro - Balance, Not Symmetry #3
This maybe a song from a soundtrack album but it doesn't sound like, this is ferocious and the best Biffy Clyro single 'Wolves Of Winter'. A new album is promised in 2020.

35 Another Sky - The Cracks #4
Their break through song in my chart and very reminiscent of bands like Everything Everything but much darker and atmospheric. Another band that deserve to be huge in the Indie scene.

34 The Darkness - Rock and Roll Deserves to Die #4
We are making great progress, i will be finished this list by sunday. The Darkness smash up my chart like its 2005 with this new record, just love the epic proggy, anthemness of this song and the whole album.

My favourite Blaenavon song too by a long way
People will chart very low for me, I liked it then didn't like it then ended up feeling like I wanted to like it more than I actually liked it, same with Biffy Clyro but that missed my 400 entirely
Hot Milk - Take Your Jacket, great song same with Swimming Girls
Pale Waves missed my 2019 chart but came #22 last year with One More Time
