I'll admit Tiffany did a decent cover of I Think We're Alone Now. However this one she did was total pants. I prefer this version to the Beatles.

But do you prefer her cover of this to The Smiths original (which lets face it if Marc Bolan's estate hired Marvin Gaye's estate plagiarism lawyer would be a slam dunk for ripping off Metal Guru):

Truly appalling in every single way possible. I don’t even want to start with this one.

One of the recent ones. It's not that bad, but it doesn't bring anything new to the table.

I didn't really notice the "Metal Guru" rip-off in Panic. I did notice obviously that Morrissey's "Certain People I Know" totally ripped "Ride A White Swan". So did Morrissey - I remember seeing some art thing where he'd called it "Certain white swans I know".
As for Oasis "Cigarettes And Alcohol"...

Another one from a supposedly credible act.
Did they actually change the backing, or is it 100% karaoke? Utterly immoral.

For the purposes of Haven Factor 7 Semi Finalist balance .... if you think that is utterly immoral then WTF is this monstrosity:

I saw the thread title and immediately thought of Amy Studt! My contribution is this that I stumbled across on Spotify recently. It's Honeyblood covering the theme tune from 90s cartoon Daria:

^ idiotic that nobody thought it worthwhile releasing the original, there was a guaranteed hit there and nobody in the industry capitalized. Too busy selling £15 CDs of Fake T**t sh*te to thick teens.

Who would ever choose to listen to this version over the original?

Marilyn Manson's Tainted Love is an inspired, brilliant cover! I Put A Spell On You is rubbish though, and his Sweet Dreams cover is bleh as well.

I think this is an absolutely stunning version of a classic song. Jacqui Abbott's voice just gives me goosebumps on it.

How can it be a stunning version of a classic song WHEN IT IS EXACTLY THE f***ing SAME? Just plug in a different vocalist?
