Of course there are. Maybe it's just a generation thing but I'd class....
Animal Collective 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' Beach House 'Teen Dream' Bombay Bicycle Club 'Flaws' Elbow 'The Seldom Seen Kid' Foals 'Total Life Forever' Last Shadow Puppets 'The Age of the Understatement' The National 'High Violet' Noah & The Whale 'The First Days of Spring' The Pains of Being Pure at Heart 'The Pains of Being Pure at Heart' Vampire Weekend 'Vampire Weekend'
...as being 10 phenomenal albums released in the past three years. I'm sure there are a hell of a lot of people who grew up with music in the 70s and early 80s who think (thought) that very few great albums were made in the 90s.

Going back to wonderwall's original point, I'd say the last three or four years have been dire in terms of the amount of great music being made. It's still there but there's so much less of it now and so much more mediocrity hyped up as something amazing. Maybe it's because I'm younger and wasn't really around in the 90s, but I think there is more great music made each year. But then that's because it's far more accessible now, and not much of the good music released actually makes the charts. Compiling my Top 100 singles and Top 50 albums of the year for the 9th year now, I'd say my list this year is probably stronger than it's ever been before. Back on topic, my three favourite 90s albums are Blur '13', Stereophonics 'Word Gets Around' and Jeff Buckley 'Grace'

I rate Delphic's album as the best marginally, but I voted for Two Door Cinema Club. I think they're more consistant and they show more promise.
Gold Panda, Stornoway, Marina & The Diamonds, The Drums, Hurts and Ellie Goulding have also released good music this year.

RUSSIA - major racism and infrastructure problems SPAIN - major racism problems HOLLAND - major hooliganism problems Our bid was not the reason we went out in the first round. Russia's infrastructure is fine A metro system that takes people all over Moscow and its suburbs including the airport and olympic village, an established football league with stadiums as good as ours, a powerful economy, the infrastructure thing might have been the case under Brehznev and Andropov but Moscow is a thriving modern city as is St Petersburg, Nizhny Novograd is find for hosting football matches too. Racism out there is no worse than what we have, the rise of the ultra far right in this country like BNP/EDL, "pakis out" that seems to fill twitter and facebook, we have a big problem with racism here. Are you joking? Lomokotiv Moscow fans made a banner saying "Thank you West Brom" with a picture of Peter Odemwingie and a load of bananas on it. When was the last time you ever saw anything like that in football terms in England? I've never seen it in my lifetime.

A small number of votes would've been enough. Two is a small number, it could've made us go 6-4 putting someone else through in stead...

So you can surely therefore see out failure is at least partly due to the British media, as being corrupt is exactly what they've accused them of being!

The British media severely hindered our bid. The Mail with the Triesman affair, the Times with outing the Nigerian and Fijian(?) last month and the BBC with Panorama earlier this week. If I were a foreign voter it would certainly make me not what to vote for England! Free speech though. Do away with that and we're all doomed. They could've done it all AFTER the bidding, the same people who supposedly want the World Cup here accusing the people going to vote of being corrupt. At least do it after we've corrupted them into voting for us!

I really hope The Times, The Mail and the BBC are proud of themselves. They may have been right but what a buch of absolute tw*ts our media actually are! Erm the media didn't decide. Russia must have had a better bid. End of. The British media severely hindered our bid. I hope Australia. As long as it doesn't go to America...

I think it'll be either Spain or Russia. Russia for somewhere different and Spain/Portugal because I think they'll have the Latin votes. I've never thought England would get it for one reason; the pitch at our main stadium.

When I looked at the list I thought any one of about 7 could win. I doubted Westwood as I thought McDowell would get the Gold votes, Williams because it was too long ago and Swann because the biggest part of his year is yet to happen. So I was suprised to see that AP McCoy is odds on favourite at every bookmaker!!
Odds (ladbrokes) McCoy: 4/5 McDowell: 9/2 Taylor: 7/1 Westwood: 8/1 Ennis: 14/1 Willaims: 16/1 Daley: 20/1 Swann: 25/1 Haye: 50/1 Cavendish: 50/1

There's no way this cricket team is comparable to the football team, it's proven itself over the last couple of years to actually have some substance. We have some fantastic cricketers who, man for man, are better than Australia.

It's not a con. That's the whole point of Black Friday, some heavily discounted items with limited availability. You'd have to be incredibly simple to think it was going to last for any real length of time. what 5 seconds It's had loads of publicity. It's over all the forums and there's massive adverts for it on the site (which has hundreds of thousands of users). It's quite possible that there were 000's of people on Amazon at 9am waiting for it to start. It's very possible that they could've had 20k of them and it'd have sold out in a minute.

Could Amazon have shot themselves in the foot today? Lots of very angry people on Twitter and Facebook threatening to boycott them from now on as it was a complete fiasco. They really shouldn't be so thick then! Dear God! :manson:

The best driver and team won, huge congratulations to both. There was some overtaking (ok not much, but some). He had 40 odd laps to overtake a slower car, he couldn't, therefore doesn't deserve anything higher than 7th.

I love Katy B, especially Katy on a Mission. Together with I Need Air, one of the few genuinely amazing dance tracks of late... not that crazy about their collab single though... or this new one with Miss Dynamite, I'd rather have Listen as new single... 'Perfect Stranger' is one of the best dance singles of the last few years I think, it's brilliant. Listened to 'Lights On' a few times now, I absolutely love it. Although I reckon if it's as big as 'On a Mission' was I might get bored of it a bit as I've started to listen to it so early.
