In addition to his 2 wins, Hamilton has also managed 4 second-place finishes (4 more than the other multiple winners combined).
Hollie Doyle is the first jockey to finish in the top 3 since Tony McCoy in 2013. She is both the first female jockey and the first English jockey to finish in the top 3.
For the first time since 2007, the top 3 were all born in England.

It only charted at #69 in 1995 - the #12 peak was a re-mix in 2014.
And I had no idea how young he was when he originally released the track!

Tell Laura I Love Her was earlier (although Je T'Aime was the first banned hit to reach #1 after the inception of the official chart in 1969).

I think you mean Holland-Dozier-Holland (Lamont being Dozier's first name)

Ironically Hound Dog did return to the chart in September 2007, albeit mainly on physical sales (it was part of the second box-set of re-issues in the mid 2000s). 22 years Interesting stuff BTW!

Stokes is in fact the first cricketer to finish in the top 3 since Flintoff's victory in 2005.
Dina Asher-Smith is the first female to finish in the top 3 since Jessica Ennis-Hill in 2015.
This is the first year with an all-English top 3 (according to their listed nationalities on Wikipedia) since 2005 (Andrew Flintoff, Ellen MacArthur, Steven Gerrard).

Curiously, every World Cup final with the exception of 1999 (Australia v France) has featured exactly one of England and New Zealand. Also, every team to have reached the final (Australia, NZ, England, South Africa, France) has done so either 3 or 4 times.

This means that England are still the only nation to have won both the Football and Rugby World Cups.

Argentina are only the 2nd team to reach the semi-finals in one tournament then fail to make it out of the pool stage 4 years later, the other being Wales who reached the semis in 1987 but went out in the pool stage in 1991.

One from last weekend that hasn't been mentioned: Great Britain's Andrew Lapthorne won the Wheelchair Quad Doubles at Wimbledon partnering Australia's Dylan Alcott.

This spoilt what would have been a remarkable statistic: prior to the final, the team that had held the USA at 0-0 for longest in their match was Thailand (that match remained 0-0 until the 12th minute), who went on to lose 13-0. This is the first senior major tournament of either gender where England have scored in every match that they played since the 2011 Women's World Cup (and they only played 4 matches on that occasion), and (unless I am very much mistaken) this is the first major tournament in which England have scored in 7 matches. Thanks for covering, Panda!

Curiously, Netherlands' first 5 wins in this competition came against teams from 5 different confederations (NZ, Cameroon, Canada, Japan, Italy).
Also, as alluded to above, Saturday's play-off between England and Sweden will occur 52 weeks to the day after the two nations met in the men's World Cup.

This is the 4th consecutive Women's World Cup in which the host nation has been eliminated in the quarter-finals.
