Might have to check some of these ones out actually.
Atomic Kitten I liked a lot as a teenager, but they really were the most basic of bands and I’d never choose to really indulge nowadays despite owning all the albums.

Surprised at Eternal, thought they’d be in or near the top ten. I like them but again, never really more than just like.

Rewind is a classic Smurfie! #11 was a shame.
Good for Mis-Teeq, great run of singles and a good first album.

Solid Harmonie don’t have a huge back collection but the four singles are all solid pop tracks.

Fifth Harmony have a handful of good tracks, but I just couldnt properly get into them. Perhaps I’m a bit old now for them.

Damaged by Danity Kane is a good tune. The rest was a bit urban for me.

I had No Angels as my 21st, a girl band from Germany Completely had forgotten No Angels! Probably would’ve had them around #10. I think I forgot Precious too.

Well that is the whole point - they don't want to sound like 1998 because, well, we aren't in 1998.
The whole point of the album was to stay true to the Steps sound but update it for 2017. Which is exactly what the album has done.
Not sure about the 'irrelevant' comment further up. I'd say a 22 date arena tour (of which 8 sold out in a couple of days) which should see attendance of about 150,000 people and a #2 album behind only Ed Sheeran is more relevant thank 95% of most artists these days?
