Brilliant Gold Medal in 10m Synchronized Platform Diving for Tom Daly and Matthew Lee holding off the Chinese by a narrow 1.23 points.
Nailed their last dive and then had agonising wait until the Chinese had dived.

Great day for Team GB.
My favourite event so far has been the Women's Street Skateboarding. Without exception, the finalists were entertaining, skilful and courageous. Gold and silver went to 13 year-olds. The Philippino who finished 7th hit the concrete half a dozen times, and each time she bounced back up laughing and dancing.
It is a modern sport which might not appeal to all, but deserves its place in the Olympics just as much as synchronised diving, golf or mountain biking.

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski (who I noticed were the 7th seeds) lost 6-3 6-4 to the Japanese pair of McLachlan and Nishikori. Really disappointing.
Liam Broady's singles and Andy Murray/Joe Salisbury's doubles matches were pushed back to tomorrow. Good for Broady's recovery from his marathon first round match and gives Andy's injury a chance to heal more.

Silver for Georgia Taylor-Brown in the triathlon takes GB's medal tally to 8. She was in the lead group but suffered a puncture with 2km to go on the bike leg and lost 22 seconds on the leaders and had to fight her way back from 5th place. Flora Duffy won, earning Bermuda's first ever Olympic gold medal. GB's Jess Learmonth led at the start of the run but faded and finished 10th.

It'll be bronze for GB in the dressage, slipping below the USA. Germany guaranteed gold unless the horse tries to eat someone.

It'll be bronze for GB in the dressage, slipping below the USA. Germany guaranteed gold unless the horse tries to eat someone. That was disappointing - combined with a brilliant display from the third American a sub-par performance to what we would expect from Charlotte but then we have to remember this is a young horse new to big competition.
Apparently he got spooked just before he came into the arena.
