Inspired by the knowledge that Top Of The Pops was going to play a song at #41 this weekend, I thought I woudl compile my top 100 , songs that peaked at #41. The great majority are from the 80s onwards although there is a few early ones but my knowledge of non top 40s before 1979 is pretty terrible. Oh and nothing after 2017 purely as I haven't done enough research to get that info so hope there is nothing brilliant.
But before we count down the top 41, here is the songs before, in batches just for fun or just because I made the list so might as well publish it.

41 Love Is All That Matters - Human League
I think this Human League song gets forgotten a lot sandwiched between their last monster hit 'Human' from 1986 and their 90s comeback. Reached #41 in 29/10/88.

40 Sunshine On Leith - Proclaimers
Yes this only reached #41 way back in 26/11/88 but its link to Scottish football has kept in on playlists for many years and is their 3rd most streamed song with over 14 million streams.

39 Shot By Both Sides - Magazine
I'm not the biggest old school punk fan but I knew this song from a complication I used to use when I DJed. It reached #41 in 04/03/78.

38 One Life Stand - Hot Chip
A bit more current this dance track reached #41 in 13/02/10, its probably one of my go to Hot Chip songs, its crazy to think that they had a top 10 hit just a few years earlier.

37 King Of The Rodeo - Kings Of Leon
Not sure that I have returned much to this song since it was out but its perfectly serviceable KOL so maybe it needs more love. It reached No. 41 on 23/04/05.

I was a huge fan of Dubstar especially their debut album but they were pretty solid for most of their output including this #41 from 20/09/97

32 Out Come The Freaks - Was (Not Was)
Lets go back a bit now, this is the retro thread, think this definitely a song that seemed bigger than its peak of #41 but surprising its not in their top 10 most streamed songs, from 17/03/84
