7 Starmaker - The Kids From "Fame"
The actual singing is better on this one but its just way to sentimental and cheesy. But I never knew this was all real, I thought it was just for the show. so sorry Mr Starmaker guy

6 Pac-Man Fever - Buckner & Garcia
First of two completely mad novelty records. They try to make it a serious rock song and it totally fails. Again another song that sounds like a sketch. Maybe its the power of SNL in this era that this kind of stuff was popular. TBh id rather just listen to the game music than this

26 Iko Iko -Natasha England
Co-founder of Towerbell Records. Twice nearly topped the charts, once with Joe Fagin, and once with Chas & Dave (Rockney was a sub-label). 29 John Wayne Is Big Leggy -Haysi Fantayzee
Another song thats really hard to decide if its good or awful is this. Well, obviously, any song that sneaks anal sex references onto kids' TV is a work of genius.

5 Ruff Mix - Wonderdog
*****WATCH IF YOU DARE************
I can't believe I am even saying there are 4 songs worse than this and if I am being fair they probably arent but I totally forgot this and it never gets played so for that I am grateful. I was a kid then and I knew nothing of this, everyone in the video looks bored and wondering WTF am I doing in this video. I hope none of my friends see me. I think this might have caused permanent mental healh issues for the children involved.

7 Starmaker - The Kids From "Fame"
The way he just sits their with that smile on his face, it annoyed me then and I was 11!! Yuk! Wasn't actually acting - Michael Thoma had genuinely been an acting teacher and was genuinely terminally ill. This was the cast farewell, which the series' executive producer asked to have written into the show. Note that they got all the extras in for that scene.

4 My Girl Lollipop - Bad Manners
I honestly think people only bought the records so they could go on TOTP, as he is an entertainer but they are just getting worse and worse with every release. No that dog is still resonating in my ears, i apologise again to the remaining songs.

3 Save Your Love - Renée, Renato
Think the top three are pretty obvious now and we all knew this was coming. Not really much to say, its kind of obvious why I never liked it. But I thought it was a joke and I am still not sure. It was just too big a hit and you coudl not hide from it.

It has that same 'Baby Shark' je-ne-sais-quoi about it... like I can imagine hearing this once and not being able to get it out of my head for months at a time The kids are hilarious, one of them looks like he's thinking 'I can't believe I'm finally on TV and this is the reason'

2 Seven Tears - Goombay Dance Band
Ok I had to swap these round as I thought which one of these can I listen to which one gives me any positive feelings at all and it had to be this. TBh its not as bad now as it was at the time, this Boney M knockoff band were really painful at the time and I just couldnt listen to it. Now I can tolerant about a 1 minute of it.

My worst hit of 1982
I've Never Been To Me - Charlene
Ok I did play a minute. I mean this song doesnt get better with age if anything its worse. Its all another one of those songs that my boss used to play when I worked in a kitchen. This wasn't even close to being the worst song on that CD but it was up there. Most songs on that CD I can not listen to at all now. So they were go 1982, it wasnt really that bad. t might end up being the best year we will see.
Just saw was it originally out in 1977 that would explain a lot?

Pleased to see Simon Cowell in dog costume in the top five.
But I feel the need to post his "remarkable" Top Of The Pops performance ... as it is umm ... different.
Plus it is quite ironic considering where he started, that his Pop Idol/X-Factor reign of terror reality TV fix singing talent shows have been replaced by a show where you have to guess who the person is dressed up in a costume singing... talk about things coming full circle.
I can't argue with the top three too much. But it leaves me wondering whether we will be seeing a different Charlene in just over half a decades time in these countdowns.

There is going to be a lot of competition once we get to those last 2 years but I think we might see a duet at least
