A double dose of Hockey on the final day. Here are England's 3rd and 5th goals going in, during their exciting 6-3 victory over South Africa. A short corner smashed home by Sam Wood (#13). A goalmouth scramble, with Philip Roper knocking the ball over the line. The gold medal winning England women's team turned up to support the men.

Australia's 7-0 demolition of India in the final looked more like an exhibition match. Here's their third goal. The multi-coloured medal ceremony. And a second dose of Australian gold, as the victorious netball team watched the game from a couple of rows behind me. This is Keira Austin and Courtney Bruce, justifiably proud of their success as part of the number one world ranked team.

I thoroughly enjoyed these Commonwealth Games.
They were superbly well organised, having re-applied many of the features which made the London Olympics so successful:- - Free public transport throughout the West Midlands. - Highly motivated volunteers. In most places they had far more than they needed, with some travelling from London and Lancashire to be part of the experience. - Efficient, courteous and thorough security. Only once did I have to queue for more than 5 minutes to get into a venue. - On-line ticket selling software which worked smoothly. - And, most of all, great crowds of people all out to have fun. The support for all athletes, of all nationalities and abilities, was terrific. Some in the stands were experts in their sport, others were just there for the ride and hadn't a clue what was happening, but all got on well. And so much positive interaction between fans of different nations.
