ok we had a couple of false starts yesterday, one because the order wasn't quite right and then I changed my mind about speeding up the list, we will carry on as we have been doing, what else is there to be honest!!?? 100 Laura Branigan - Branigan 2
Second solo album from AOR singer and although I love her voice, I am not enjoying her albums as much as I hoped, they have soem great songs but a lot of filler and some really dreary MOR ballads that I have to skip, just wish she was more Bonnie Tyler and less Celine Dion. This album reached #29 in the US. 3/5

99 Bucks Fizz - Hand CutThis was their third album and I am suspecting it will be their weakest of the 80s but they are such a good pop group that you dont skip anything but much of this is forgettable sadly."If You Can't Stand the Heat" is a pop gem though and 'Run For Your Life; i spretty great as well. It reached #17 in the UK. 3/5

I'm looking forward to see where my favourites from this year (as seen in Shireblogger's thread) end up here!

98 Stray Cats - Rant n' Rave With the Stray Cats
This was their third album and the novelty is starting to where off with me, if you are into this sound, its another great record for the genre but not enough big songw to keep my interest. It reached #27 in the US and #61 ub the UK. 3/5

97 The Replacements - Hootenanny
I keep hearing from YouTubers I follow that they are one of the most important bands that helped birth pop punk and are very influential but I am not feeling them yet, although their 1984 record is a big step up from this. It is just very weird, punky, silly, odd but energetic if it was better produced I would think it was something from NM chart circa 2006 eg Dropkick Murphys or something. Their second album never charted but it does average around 300000 streams on Spotify with a peak of 1.5m for 'Within Your Reach' 3/5

96 Robert Palmer - Pride
A few albums coming up including this ona are the definition of 3/5, just kinda mid. This was his seventh album and it is pleasant enough, the single You Are in My System" is a highlight but even that is not as good as future hits. It's fine. It reached #37 in the UK. 3/5

95 The Stranglers - Feline
I am very up and down with The Stranglers, this is now their seventh album and its a step down from ' La Folie' but it is way better than 'The Gospel According to the Meninblack' eventhough it finishes in such a low placing. 1983 is a stacked year. Again it's fine but things will really really improve with their 1984 album. It did though chart higher than the previous album reaching #4 but I think thats more to do with 'Golden Brown' raising their profile than the actual quality of this album. 3/5

94 Chris Rea - Water Sign
Fifth album from Chris Rea who is still pretty under the radar apart from his 1978 hit "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" but this album featured the first song I heard by him since "I Can Hear Your Heartbeat" which is one of his best songs in my opinion. Its typoical Rea faire, gentle guitar pop with a lot of synths. But even with a radio hit, this album still hasn't brought him big success yet reaching just #64 in the UK. 3/5

93 Bob Marley & The Wailers - Confrontation
Bob's last studio album and overall it is way of his usual standards, 'Buffalo Soldier' is by far the highlight on this album, there is nothing bad but it just seems a bit lazy for him but under his circumstances that is not surprising, the production is also poor for a Marley record. It reached #55 in the US. 3/5

92 Elton John - Too Low For Zero
Seeing Elton in my lists at all, is a breakthrough but this is maybe his best 80s record but there is a chance that 'Ice On Fire' and 'Sleeping with the Past' make the cut as well but a slim one due to the years they are out but we will see. This was his seventeenth album and his comeback record after a string of low selling records. This album features "I'm Still Standing" and "Kiss the Bride" as well as the big ballad "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues". It reached #7 in the UK and #28 in the US and became his second most successful record of the eighties. 3/5

'Too low for zero' is one of Elton's classic albums I think. The singles are top tier Elton, and the album tracks are great too - especially 'Harmony'.

91 The Fun Boy Three - Waiting
Their second album and I am still not really into it, much prefer the Go-Gos version of "Our Lips Are Sealed" but its ok and "The Tunnel of Love" is good as well but the rest not for me and thank goodness their terrible version of "Summertime", one of my worst singles of the year tracks, was not on this edition of the album. It reached #7 in the UK and #104 in the US. 3/5

90 Magnum - The Eleventh Hour
First appearance for the hard rockers on these lists with their fourth studio album. Not sure how this made the cut and I missed the previous album "Chase The Dragon' which was a more successful record This album is fine, they will write much better songs and they will sound much better, iffy production on this. I am exoecting a very high result for their 1986 album. So decent but not really worth checking out. It reached #38 in the UK 3/5

89 The Rolling Stones - Undercover
Still making the lists with their 17th UK and 19th US album. The first track and hit "Undercover of the Night" is by far the best song on this record, showing that finally The Stones can do 80s convincingly but other that its all pretty mixed, quite strange at times going from hard rock to really cheesy production and sometimes both at the same time. But it did well it reached #3 in the Uk and #4 in the US but I say just play track one. 3/5

88 Randy Newman - Trouble in Paradise
Now something completely different, we have some jazzy soft rock with the distinctive vocals of Randy Newman, this was his seventh album and featured his most famous song imo "I Love L.A.". It just screams 80s to me, I just get nostalgia when I hear it and I love the video with all the guest celebs, similiar to something Talking Heads will do in a couple of years as well. First heard that song on No Limits but it features in so many movies. As for the album, its more of the same really and just a refreshing change to everything else out around this time. The album reached #64. 3/5 Oh why not, its so good..

87 Wham - Fantastic
Can't say I was much of a fan of Wham, it really was not acceptable when I was at school either but of course secretly I loved 'Club Tropicana' which is a total tune and will always remind me of a school trip to Spain. But most of their debut album is just a bit too silly for me, cheesy choruses, awful raps, silly singa long bits and Ooh Oohs!! But you can kind of see the talent George has under all that 80s cheese. The album was of course a UK #1 and reached #83 in the US. 3/5

86 Status Quo - Back to Back
A bit of nostalgia allows them to get their hghest finish yet with their sixteenth album, yes its just more of the same but "Marguerita Time" gave me good memories. The album reached #9 in the UK 3.5/5 Yes I know already I just love 1983!
