Yeah, the China Open takes place next week. We will wait and see if he turns up.
Here is the draw. As with last year, there is a wild card round to allow more Chinese players into the tournament. Ding Junhui won the tournament as a wild card last year but because he was a wild card, he didn't receive the prize money or ranking points.

sayd best 9 on bout j Tw*t 5 hows dat 9 'Best of 9' means the first to 5 wins. The '9' means that's the maximum number of frames that can be played in the match (eg if the result was 5-4). In the first round of the World Championship it will be best of 19, meaning the first to 10 wins. Don't know what's going on with Ronnie at the moment. Any injury he has isn't really an excuse anyway. Stephen Hendry won a world title one year with a broken arm!

After the China Open, which finishes tomorrow, the next snooker on TV will be the World Championship, which starts on April 15th.
John Higgins is through to the China Open final after beating Ken Doherty this morning. In the other semi-final, Mark Williams needs only one more frame to beat Ding Junhui.

I'm not sure I'd agree with his statement that he's the greatest of all time.
He is probably the most naturally-talented player ever but 'greatness' goes beyond that. It's more than just what you can do with the cue. To be 'the greatest' you need to be strong on the mental side as well. That's something Ronnie is often lacking and that is why Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis have 13 world titles between them and Ronnie only has 2.
The World Championship is going to be very interesting as one half of the draw is much stronger than the other, with the top 3 in the provisional world rankings (Hendry, Higgins, Ronnie) all in the same half of the draw. That means someone like Ken Doherty, Peter Ebdon or even Shaun Murphy again could reach the final from the top half of the draw.

Absolutely. When he's at his best, Ronnie is unstoppable but for various reasons, he can't produce that every time and I don't think we've seen him at his best all season.
He'll have to be at his best to win the World Championship, I feel. If it goes to form, he's due to meet John Higgins in the quarter-finals, then Hendry in the semis.

John Higgins and Mark Williams are 4-4 after the first session of the China Open final. It's a best-of-17 final.

Ronnie's had a poor season by his standards. The list I posted is based on the last two seasons. There's another list based on this season only which is used to determine which players stay on the Main Tour for next year (80 will keep their place) and Ronnie's down in 35th place, partly due to the fact he missed the Malta Cup.
Steve James' position looks bad but he hasn't actually played since the UK Championship. He lost his place on the tour at the end of last season but was allowed back in after 3 players retired. Don't know why they bothered, really.
