I suspect he does want to stay there, atleast for the time being. But like every footballer and agent they're just trying to get as much money as possible.

It is a hard one to call.
He should stay and play for the team with true heart, as after all, he has only recently signed a 100,000 pound a week deal.
There again, he has won the premiership and the champions league with Man U, not much else for him to go for apart from the 2 cups.
I his heart isnt in Man U, then get the money and get rid of him. His value will drop if he starts playing pants.
I don't want to see him leave Man u as I believe he is a good player for the team.
Also I believe a move to spain will be a drop in level as I believe the Premiership is the best in the world.

I guess the lure of Spanish football is too much, and also closer to home, and you would expect a bit more loyalty as he has the potential to become an alltime great at United in a superb side, but footballers and loyalty dont really go together any more do they? I hope he stays, but if he's unstelled then he should bugger off, but how much would United accept to lose him? 40 mill? Best player around at the mo imo.

He's also win the FA cup and League cup with United as he's been there five years... apparently he says he will make an announcement "in a couple of days", presumably he already knows and is stringing it out to get a bigger pay packet?

I didnt realise that he had been there that long.

its no different to what man u do every season by cherry picking other teams best players.
there is no way you can replace the guy in any way shape or form other than messi or kaka. i doubt either would join a team who just sold their best player.
the simple maths is sell him and sacrafice the league title next season. there is no doubting he single handedly gained 10-15 points. bear in mind arsenal are a young improving team and only finished 4 points behind and chelsea had a poor season and only finished 2 points behind

Ungrateful little sh*t, if he leaves, I hope he breaks a leg on the way to the airport. What an arse, he can be part of a famous United side and wants to go to Real Madrid instead, tit.

But he's always said he wants to go to Real Madrid. He's now won everything there is to win at Man Utd and is only getting better...

after the way man u stood by him after everyone called him a tosser and sh*t and demanded he never set foot in england again. he would not be the player he is today if man u flogged him to porto or deportivo a few seasons ago because to be honest he was a show pony with no end product thet dived a lot at that point in his career. he has had one great season and wants to move, hardlies repaying man u's faith and loyelty

But why would he? Football is a job and unless you're playing football for the club you've always supported I don't really see why so much loyalty is expected. It's like any other job, a company may stick by you but if you get the chance to move to another compnay who are paying you a lot more and is located in a far nicer place of the world after you've achieved about everything theres is to achieve in your current job why would you stay?!

its slightly different, normal people move jobs because they cant afford the bills or work for next to nothing and see it as a way to live comfortably...but when your making half a million a month for kicking a ball about im not sure needing more money as an issue. if he has always wanted to play in spain i cant see why he signed a new long term contract with man u other than the money. they were good enough for him to commit to 12 month ago but now he wants out. he is nothing more than a spoilt child that because of wealth he has no moral or ethical values so your right, why would he choose to stay. he has no reason to because he is a poor excuse for a human being and good riddance.
its all money, money, money with him. if everyone was just motivated by money then you might aswel nuke us all now because it would be a place not worth living in.

It's all money money money with every player and their agent though. That's the way football has become, he's not alone, infact he's with atleast 95% of footballers now. He also could've quite easily let Man Utd after the world cup and they'd have got what, £15-20m max. Instead he's not going for anything less than about £60m and he's repaid Man Utd by being by far their best player en route to two Premiership's and a Champions League...

The daft thing is, he's not going to move this season, as he's so far under contract, so why cause all this fuss and bother now? Man U wont sell him for under 50 mill and rightly so, and Real wont pay that, but surely he is going to get stick from the Man U fans next season now, it's just ridiculous the lengths some people will go to. He's had a fantastic season, and ok he wants to play for Real Madrid, but he's young, keep your gob shut, or talk to your manager, not the bloody press. Get another season of premiership in, then ask for a move. He just epitomises everything about the Premiership at the moment and I hope the whole lot implodes and self destructs soon! Look at henry and what he did at the Arse, stayed with them for how many seasons? Went to Barca and has he performed to the same level? Same with Van Nistelroy and Real Madrid. And really is it that diff to earn 100k or 125k, surely you reach a point where it's all just silly money, so do you really need that extra 25k?

Van Nistlerooy has done well for Madrid. 41 goals in 61 games. Although he left after falling out with Fergie...

Oh I dunno about Champions League. He did that in the League I think. He was injured for the final 3 months of this season so am guessing he missed everything post group stages...
