F1 teams haven't won the team award since 1962, it's a curious and bizarre omission. Certainly Brawn were far more worthy of the award.

Meh, Button should have won it. Giggs would be a good shout for a lifetime/career achievement award, but Macheda was more instrumental in United's title win than he was. Agreed, though im not unhappy that Giggs did win it. As suedehead said, he won it, and the PFA award last season as well, more for his longevity than anything else.

In a smaller pool though. How many countries take women's cricket seriously? I think it's relative. Maybe I'm not seeing it as I'm not English but can the Ashes be the only thing taken into consideration which seems to be the case here? Apart from a recent win in a 20-20 series in South Africa in addition to the Ashes did the English Cricket Team not have a pretty dire year or am I missing something? My dad had similar views to you, he couldnt understand why the Ashes team won the award. He thought, like vastariner, that Brawn should have won it though, but i just knew that it would be the Ashes team.
