So that match wins the "More people on the pitch than in the crowd" award Blimey, though Windsor & Eton who can't play far away probably doesn't help them... Only discovered Eton Manor last season, i'm surprised Eton can sustain two teams tbh. They've only got one and a half really

I wouldn't have minded a trip to Harrogate for the next round. Thackley's probably out of my range... Railway play in Starbeck though, quite a rough place where Mel teaches, a few miles outside of Harrogate. If they are at home next saturday, I'm hoping to go and watch them play on non league day. Been a few times, usually just over 100 there, nice seated stand behind the goal though. Still beats a trip to Bradford, which is where Thackley is. Marske have had a home league game rescheduled for next Tuesday against Darlington Railway Athletic so we'll be going to that.

Only discovered Eton Manor last season, i'm surprised Eton can sustain two teams tbh. I think one's pushing it a bit. Windsor & Eton's average crowd last season was 164, though that was slightly above the average for their division. That part of the world just doesn't strike me as somewhere where football would be particularly popular.

At least without a wall on the pitch.
Sad to say, Eton Manor are not from Eton...they were founded by Etonians to bring football to the poorer classes in the East End.

Slough are a well supported club though, i think they get roughly 200-250 now, may be less as haven't seen any attendances recently, but it hasn't changed much in recent years even though the club are at the lowest level in their history. And if it is lower i'd put that down to playing at Beaconsfield over the last few seasons rather than at Windsor & Eton (there's only really the M4 separating the two places). In their last season actually playing in Slough 2002-03 at Wexham Park they were the 23rd best supported team outside the Conference, impressive achievement when they were 2 divisions below that level at the time. If you were thinking of Reading or Berkshire as a whole though then i can see your point. I would say Kent non-league clubs are generally better supported. And yes I discovered after posting yesterday that Eton Manor weren't actually from Eton

Back in the non-pro days Swifts (a Slough club) reached the FA Cup semis. In those early league days the south was very un-represented as professionalism took a while to take off amidst the public schools. So Swifts (and indeed Reading) missed out on some potential success. Reading have lost more FA Cup ties than any other League club.

Fitting that Thame follow in the footsteps of their near-namesakes Thames.

I'd like Harrow much more if they replaced "Borough" with "Kitty".

Leiston always do rather well in the cup. For a non league team.

Leiston always do rather well in the cup. For a non league team. Yeah, I think they reached the 1st round a few years ago... Any club from step 5 or lower that reaches the 1st round is doing very, very well. Some years you don't even get any clubs from that low down making it that far.

I should also mention Radcliffe Olympic are playing Tipton in the next round, so we're guaranteed at least one club from below step 4 in the final qualifying round.

2008-09 against Fleetwood Town.
Same year got to 4th round Vase cup.
Only other thing about Leiston of note is the school, summerhill. It's a non state like one where anything goes almost. Some friends are from there. Otherwise Leiston is overly mundane.
