Tad beat a team from the league above, so very impressive. Didn't realise Bath City were in it already, they were conference last season! Conference North and South come in at this round. A real chance for Tadcaster now if they get a decent draw as no teams come in at the next round.

How many qualifying rounds are there?, I really do think these rounds should get more TV coverage!!. Six in total, including the two preliminary rounds, so there's two more to go now. I agree they should get more TV coverage. ESPN showed Wembley's games due to their sponsorship deal/publicity stunt/joke with the "legends" but since they were knocked out, I don't think they can be arsed with the qualifying rounds anymore...

Would be good if at least thefa.com streamed the games, even if ESPN are not bothered. What was that publicity stunt ESPN pulled? .

Weekend of 20th October Alfreton v Gateshead Hyde v Harrogate FC United of Manchester v Hereford Barrow v Tamworth Guiseley v Hednesford/Buxton Grimsby v Kidderminster Bradford Park Avenue v Ossett Wrexham v Southport AFC Fylde v Ilkeston Boston United v Altrincham Lincoln v Chester Macclesfield v Marine Workington v Mansfield Town Stockport v Stalybridge AFC Telford v Nuneaton Town South Park v Dereham/Met Police Didcot Town v Arlesey Town Forest Green v Dartford Yate Town v Newport County Slough Town v Gosport Hastings v Blackfield & Langley Bromley v Worcester Chelmsford v East Thurrock Hayes and Yeading v Boreham Wood AFC Totton v Cambridge City Welling v Bishop's Stortford Braintree v Lowestoft Dorchester v Bury Town Cambridge United v Luton Gloucester v Chippenham Histon/Corby Town v Eastbourne Borough Woking v Ebbsfleet
Stags away at Workington or Barwell, I dont not fancy our chances, unless we score 5 that is, as we like conceding 4!

Looking at specific teams, fully expect Ebbsfleet to lose, Eastbourne away to a club at the same level not great, Bromley have a winnable tie, Slough at home to a side from the division above (Slough are step 4) but after their upset win at Margate in the last round that's a winnable match for them. As for Welling and Dartford's ties..

South Park v Met Police, one of them could face Sheff United in the next round, blimey!

Met Police have been in the 1st round a few times before. They've started doing quite well again since they abandoned their policy of only having serving police officers in the team and are in the Ryman Premier now.
For South Park, it's alrwady much further than they've ever been. You can imagine the newspaper headlines if they make it...

Met. Police are in, didn't realise they'd done it before. Great that the Stags won, in the 1st round again, nice easy tie I think, and a bit more money...

Lowest-ranked teams who made it into the plastic hat for the 1st round draw:
step 3 Arlesey Town (Southern Premier) Cambridge City (Southern Premier) East Thurrock United (Isthmian Premier) - replay vs Chelmsford AFC Fylde (Northern Premier Premier) - replay vs Ilkeston Gosport Borough (Southern Premier) - vs Slough, 3pm Hastings United (Isthmian Premier) Hendon (Isthmian Premier) Ilkeston (Northern Premier Premier) - replay vs AFC Flyde Metropolitan Police (Isthmian Premier)
step 4 Slough Town (Southern Div 1 Central) - vs Gosport, 3pm Yate Town (Southern Div 1 South & West) - replay vs Newport County
Interesting that Cambridge City made it further than Cambridge United. I wonder when the last time that happened was.
