These are the ties that stood out to me out of interest in certain teams. Mansfield could become the Haven team, if they beat Gosport/Slough Town! FA Cup first round ties Fleetwood Town v Bromley Forest Green Rovers or Dartford v Port Vale Gillingham v Scunthorpe United Mansfield Town v Slough Town or Gosport Borough Carlisle United v Ebbsfleet United That is the perfect draw for you! And I thought exactly the same about Mansfield being the Haven team! Not bad from Slough but fully expect Gosport to win the replay. I did notice that the replay is on Tuesday, that seems a bit harsh not to have 3 days between the games? Obv Dartford is dependant on them winning the replay, Gills have a winnable tie.

Portsmouth v Notts County could be a good tie as well. We might go to the Fleetwood game, although I guess we should go to the Mansfield game and see the Haven team

I did notice that the replay is on Tuesday, that seems a bit harsh not to have 3 days between the games? Non-league teams tend to have their own set night for home midweek games. It makes it easier for players with jobs to plan their schedule around games. Marske play their home midweek games on a Wednesday, but in the previous two seasons it was Tuesdays.

So Slough beat Gosport! Televised games are Cambridge City v MK Dons Braintree Town v Tranmere Rovers Dorchester v Plymouth 64k per club, plus 18k for winning.

Interesting that Cambridge City made it further than Cambridge United. I wonder when the last time that happened was. It happened two years in a row in 2004 and 2005. Incidentally, in 2004 Cambridge City were knocked out in Round 2 after losing at home to MK Dons...

I should add that the initial game was played on the Sunday due to Slough groundsharing with Beaconsfield.

Yea, discovered that on Sunday, don't think the Gosport manager was too happy about it either! It goes back to when they were playing at Windsor & Eton, so not far off 10 years now that it's been the case. Remarkable attendances for the 2 games v Gosport, especially the replay as it was midweek. 2004-2005 (think thats right) when they reached the 2nd rd they got 1100 (again think thats right) for the 4th qualifying rd, and then 3000 for the 1st and 2nd rd ties. 3000 still amazes me as having seen video footage of the odd game of theirs at W&E in the mid 2000s the ground didn't look capable of holding anywhere near that amount!

As expected the Stags did not beat Slough and now have to overcome them in a replay, glad I chose to go and watch Fleetwood beat Bromley 3-0 instead. Wasn't as easy as it sounded as two of the goals were pens, and they were 3-0 up after around 35 mins. Bromley missed a few sitters and Fleetwood should have had a man sent off after 70 mins which could have made a difference. They brought a fair few fans as well who made a lot of noise but thankfully went home empty handed. Nice new stand at Fleetwood, but the rest of it is still very non league and I'm not sure how they can make it bigger as it's hemmed in on all sides. Oh and when they scored goals it was the Captain Pugwash theme tune! Now where to go for round 2.

Great result for Harrogate Town, going down to Torquay and winning, just days after winning their delayed replay 1-0 after extra time. The replay had to be played at Harrogate Railway's ground due to their own pitch being waterlogged and ended up being the smallest crowd of the 4th Qualifying Round.

I never realised that, Railways pitch is normally more waterlogged than Towns! Neither team get good crowds, Railway around 90 and Town around 375.

2 non-league teams guaranteed in Round 3, plus a possible MK Dons v Wimbledon clash. Difficult to pick the televised games, though. Harrogate v Hastings would be fun but there's no way ITV will go for an all-non-league tie. ESPN might be a bit braver.

I can't speak for Conf North, but not many of the attendances are that good in Conference South having looked earlier in the season. Just caught up with the Sunday highlights and Jon Champion mentioned in commentary that Dorchester struggle to get 500 (think thats what he said anyway). I know mrh mentioned before that Maidenhead are punching above their weight being at that level but their attendances don't seem to be a lot lower than many in that division. I guess it suggests there are a lot of smaller clubs at that level currently?

I was pleased the bromley fans went home empty handed, because they booed when the fleetwood team players names were read out, and they wouldn't sit down when they were asked. If you come and boo a team, you dont get any support from this neutral. Oh and they came up with the chant of "You're just a small town in Blackpool!" Whereas the fleetwood fans sang "Who the f***ing hell are you" because to be honest, I think Bromley is in Kent, but I would have no idea where!
Mansfield replay on tuesday, I am not looking forward to that!

That sounds fair enough, although i'm used to fans not sitting down at the Mad Stad! Bromley is in Kent, but it's also a London borough.

Why were Notts County playing in their pyjamas away from home? Awful kit! Fab 2nd Stags goal by Briscoe! And we have Liverpool in the next round, if we can finally beat Lincoln. It would be truly amazing to play them, it would mean tv money, a full house of 9000 or so and money for the new owner who has put so much money into the club! But like I say, we have to beat Lincoln first...
