I think Perry may have missed his chance this afternoon. Had an opportunity to go 10-6 up overnight but ended up losing the frame and you'd still have to make Ronnie favourite at 9-7 down.

Murphy and Fu only started their match this morning so they won't finish until tomorrow. For most of the other tournaments you can probably get a better idea of who you're going to see when you buy tickets, purely because they don't sell out in advance, but the schedules for those tournaments are more changeable than at the Crucible due to there being more tables. The one exception would probably be the Masters in London, which only has one table. Having said that, the people watching Ronnie's matches in this tournament will have known they were going to see Ronnie because he was guaranteed to be seeded 1 as defending champion and they would've been able to work out when he'd be playing. That's why his matches sold out long before any of the others. My tip for trying to see a particular player in a match would be going to watch one of the qualifying events and checking the schedule in advance so you can see who's playing when. Qualifying events next season are scheduled to take place in Gloucester, Barnsley and Wigan.Ronnie's quarter-final against either Shaun Murphy or Marco Fu is scheduled to start on Tuesday afternoon. Murphy and Fu only started their match this morning so they won't finish until tomorrow.

The next round is the quarter-finals. It's first to 13 again but as there are only 4 matches, it will be all done in 2 days, with the semi-finals (first to 17) then taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and the final (first to 18) on Sunday and Monday.

Dale's had a favourable draw, coming up against Mark Davis in the 1st round and then rookie Michael Wasley but he seems to be playing well. He'll have his hands full with Barry Hawkins though. Dale and Ronnie are due to meet in the semis if they both get that far.
From what I've seen of the tournament so far, Neil Robertson has been the most impressive player. A final between him and Ronnie has the potential to be something very special.

I might try and go to the UK Championship in York in December as well. The previous time I saw snooker live was around 25 years ago when I saw a Matchroom League (later the Premier League) match between Terry Griffiths and Tony Meo. I went to the morning and evening sessions and spent the afternoon wandering around Sheffield city centre and popping into the Q Zone where they have the TV studio. The earpieces are £6 but you get to keep them so you can re-use them if you go back another time. I chose the seats when I booked online. There was a stand set up in the large waiting area that sold snooker-related merchandise like t-shirts, books, DVDs and even snooker equipment like cues, balls, chalk and refs' gloves! Most of it seemed a bit on the expensive side though so I didn't bother buying anything. The waiting area also had a bar and a bookies' stand. There's a cafe downstairs in the Crucible that sells a range of food though I think I just had an ice cream out of the freezer as we'd been to KFC earlier in the afternoon. The Winter Garden, which is where the Q Zone is, directly opposite the Crucible, has a restaurant and a nice little sandwich bar where I went for breakfast when I arrived in Sheffield.
