O'Sullivan unhurt after crash Snooker ace Ronnie O'Sullivan escaped unscathed from a car crash as he travelled home from defeat in the Dafabet World Championship final. The five-times world champion and his six-year-old son, Ronnie Jnr, were travelling in a two-seater Audi R8 sports car when it spun out of control on the M1 near Leicester at around 1.30am. Neither suffered serious injuries but they were understood to have been left "shaken" after pulling themselves out of the wreckage. O'Sullivan said after the final that he had "never been in such a good place" despite the defeat wuffyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hollaaaaa moooooooooooooooooooooooo uppp yoooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Glad the outcome wasn't more serious. Not sure that's the type of car I'd drive with a six year old though.

All the ranking events should be on Eurosport. They show some of the European Tour events as well. BBC will be showing the UK Championship, Masters, Welsh Open and World Championship. ITV will show the Champion of Champions and World Grand Prix. Sky Sports will show the Shoot-Out. It's possible ITV may decide to show one or more of the Chinese tournaments, as they have done in the past.

The first four Q School tour cards were won today and three of them went to players who've just lost their place on the tour: Tian Pengfei, Zhang Anda and Craig Steaman. The other spot was earned by pool specialist Chris Melling, a former 8-ball World Champion (as is Mark Selby) who has also represented Europe in the Mosconi Cup.
Four more tour places are up for grabs in the second Q School tournament, which starts tomorrow.
Those who don't qualify but perform well could make up the numbers in next season's ranking tournaments if they fall short of the maximum entry numbers, though priority will go to the so-called "legends' spots". These are likely to go to Stephen Hendry, Steve Davis and James Wattana.

Anyone can enter as long as it was before the deadline (April 4th) and they paid the entry fee of £600 (down from £1000 last year due to Q School being reduced to two tournaments and 8 tour places).

Q School concluded yesterday with four more tour spots being earned. Two of those went to players who've just dropped off the tour: Liam Highfield and Michael Leslie. That makes a total of five of the eight available places being won by players who were relegated a few weeks ago. The other two spots went to Wales' Lee Walker, who reached the quarter-finals of the World Championship back in 1997, and Michael Georgiou, who had a season on the tour a few years ago but failed to win a single match.
Among the final round losers was Alex Pagulayan, a Canadian pool player, who also had a good run in Q School 1 and there's a very good chance we'll see him taking part in some qualifying tournaments as a top-up entry.
Qualifying for the Wuxi Classic starts on Saturday so I'll post a new thread tonight with the draw.
