Ok, given the Kids From Fame have just entered my 1982 retro chart with Hi Fidelity, that song isn't a cover as far as I'm aware but their follow-up and biggest hit was:

Original version of "In The Army Now" was recorded by South African-born Dutch duo Bolland & Bolland and spent six weeks on the top of Norwegian chart in 1982.

Original "Puttin' On The Ritz" was recorded by Irving Berlin in 1929 year.
The song received renewed popularity in 1982 when Dutch musician Taco released a new version of the song.

"Mickey" (originally titled as "Kitty") was originally performed by British pop group Racey and was included on their debut studio album "Smash and Grab" in 1979. The original Racey song did not include the "Oh Mickey, you're so fine" chant, which Toni Basil added.

"When the Kissing Stops" had been entered into "A Song for Europe" earlier in 1983, and although Brotherhood of Man briefly considered performing it themselves, ultimately a three-piece group, Rubic was chosen to sing it. The song made it to the finals, but stalled at 5th place (out of eight entries). Brotherhood of Man themselves released the song in June 1983 as their final ever single.

The original "Suspicious Minds" was recorded by American songwriter Mark James in 1968 year, but failed commercially.

That was known to be a cover as soon as it was released (and actually pre-release)

Yep. Kish Mauve definitely were mentioned a lot prior the Kylie release, plus she recorded another of their tracks. Will Youngs “Come On” was also a Kish Mauve song.

Often when a song is released that's a cover of an old hit, I didn't realise that the previous version of the hit was also a cover.
On my 1991 playlist getting the Commitments version of Mustang Sally, I looked up the song and found the original wasn't actually Wilson Pickett.
This is the original, by its songwriter:

Before yesterday I didn't hear Who - Behind Blue Eyes and I thought that Limp Bizkit's version is original. "Behind Blue Eyes" was initially considered for a UK single release in 1971 year, but Pete Townshend claimed that the song was "too much out of character" for British singles market. However, the song did eventually see a single release in France, Belgium, United States and Netherlands.

I'm not 100 sure % but ... Popular Lithuanian hit Gintare - Debeseli, Debeseli is possibly a cover version of Dutch song "Smoesjes Arie" by Tineke Schouten from 1988 year. I was wrong, the original is Raffaella Carra - Hay Que Venir Al Sur from 1978 year.

This week's 1951 Time Machine has thrown up a number of "earlier versions" (possibly the originals) of songs that were covered later to be hits by other artists. Of those it's "Blue Velvet" that everyone associates with Bobby Vinton (and everyone knew that it was a re-release when it charted in 1990) but we have a Tony Bennett version from 1951.
The last round had a different (and earlier recording than Jo Stafford) of "You Belong To Me".
