Finally, here's the combined Top 100 Acts of 1988. I'll post as an image, which shows comparative across the last six years. There's a lot of information on here but hopefully will upload ok.

And so the Pet Shop Boys retain the crown for biggest act of the year for the third consecutive year. Belinda ran them close but they overtook her in the last week or so of the year, thanks to the performance of Left To My Own Devices. Interesting battle for the act of the 80s shaping up between Pet Shop Boys vs Madonna. Thanks again for your contributions, looking forward to the highs and lows of 1989!

Debbie Gibson my top act of 1988 although if you add The Smiths and Morrissey totals together it comes out slightly higher.

WHITNEYFAN'S TOP 50 ACTS OF 19881 Tiffany 362 Ecstatic about that. She is without fail the first artist I always think of when I think of 1988! She's definitely synonymous with 1988 for me too, although I was always Team Deb. Her star waned far too quickly. Her final hit will be big on my chart in 1989, one of the best things she ever did!

"All This Time" was one of the 11 entries on my first chart of 1989, but "Lost In Your Eyes" is only a month away and will totally eclipse it, in fact Debbie Gibson will be bigger in my chart in 1989 than she was in 1988.

I'm gutted she's only got one UK hit to come - although 1989 is such an epic year for music that it should make up for it a bit.

Can't believe Womack and Womack actually was my #1 song for the year thought it Would be Belinda's Heaven. Loved Desireless' Voyage but hope nobody notices Glenn Medeiros at #6 - it is a real guilty pleasure! As usual Kingpin thanks for all the work you put into this thread amd the weekly chart in all the circumstances - it is my favourite. Maybe you'll be persuaded to stay!

Debbie Gibson made a couple of movies for Hallmark in the past few years - although they're probably better avoided.

All this time was a minor hit in 1989 and then that was it, but some of her later albums are definitely worth checking out!

Check out All This Time rubcale, I know you really liked Could've Been, but this is her best ballad by a mile imo. We really missed out on this one here, it must be coming up soon once Radio Romance leaves the chart.
