ok, Garth Brooks will be added.
There are no further spaces. Miles Davis was included in this Channel 4 Hall Of Fame as a major jazz musician, but he is not on our list. However nobody had nominated him and I don't know how much of his music anyone knows anyway, so I guess it's just hard luck for him.

Andy, you may close the topic.

I'll leave it open for debates and comments as people might ask about certain artists and certain songs and stuff if that is ok, neil...? Also, how's the 192 working again? I forget.

First round is 64 contests of groups of 3. You will vote 1st/2nd/3rd in each group. 2 will qualify, so it reduces the numbers down to 128.
First 16 groups will be posted 21 November, then 24 November, 28 November and 1 December, so 2 a week, and voting will be open for 8 days in each group (there will be a bit of overlap).
From 128 we can either do a straight knock out, or groups of 4 with 2 going through. (Straight knock-out is easier to vote and calculate, but groups of 4 make it less likely for someone to go out on an unlucky draw, thus we will tend to end up with the ones that really are our favourites).
I propose seeding be done each round according to the margin of victory. With Excel it should be easy enough to do.

Ok thanks...not sure I like the 1,2,3 thing for the groupings, but guess it is best if there are 2 you like in there, I would prefere to just vote for a fave, easier to add up for you as well;) I prefer straight knock out as well...It's how the women has been done and the bands will be done, so seems best to keep it to the same for at as much as poss really...

I suspect the biggest selling UK singles artist of all time will fall on his ass in the first round. And not even a mention for Val Doonican!
