One thing I forgot to say about Tyson's problems is that sometimes when you have a serious injury you're not the same player when you return. Owen is probably the best example, Martin Butler, one of our former strikers, is another. He was a quality striker for a season and a half, signed in Jan 2000 and helped keep us up and then scored loads of goals in our promotion push in 2000-2001. But then suffered a knee injury early in the following season and was never as sharp again He left at the end of the 2002-2003 season after struggling to get in the team, and having checked soccerbase he scored 40 goals in 4 years for Rotherham and Walsall before joining Grimsby in October where he's scored just 1 goal this season. Considering he's now 33 i'm actually surprised he's still going.

Typical. Dobie couldn't score in a brothel when he was with us but we sell im to a rival and he scores the winning goal in their game in hand to put them above us.
We have to beat them on monday!

www.newsandstar.co.uk/sport/viewarticle.aspx?id=801393What an utter tit! States if given the chance he would have been a success for us - utter b****cks! For a start he spent most of the time injured and we stuck by him paying for him to see a top specialist in America which he convenienty forgets to mention. And if he had te bags of ability he thinks he has then surely he'd have had a much better record than four goals in 23 starts?! He had plenty of opportunities to prove his fitness in the reserves too which he never seemed to do. And to say we have too big a squad and players don't know when they'll play or not unlike Carisle who have a small settled squad, well considering we've only used 24 players in the league all season compared to their 26 puts that to bed, too. Forget Marlon King, I have a new worst ever player...

Looking forward to watching the game tonight, for what will be the first time I've seen Forest since we beat you 1-0 in the Championship almost 3 years ago, a game I was at.
Shame there's no Tyson though..

i have followed carlisle for 8 year or so they are my second team and dobie was imense in his first spell at carlisle, as far as i know he had a very bad injury when he was at forest and just could not score. i was chuffed when i found out he was back at carlisle. their away form is poor so i think forest might edge it tonight

Ours ain't much better. We've only lost one at home all season (against Leeds in August). I think both teams are favourite to win the home tie.
Started fairly well. Would watch but as I'm at uni hardly anwhere will be showing it (they hardly show Championship matches so not much chance of this shown) and as it's raining I can't be arsed to find a pub with it on, will listen and watch the highlights on World when they're put on.

Oh dear! Very poor result. We have to bounce back now with a convincing win against Crewe. Bizzare tactics again though, not changing soon enough, no striker on the bench? Awful!

Missed the first 20 mins of the 1st half and only saw last 20 of the 2nd half after getting bored lol. Carlisle may have been difficult to break down but Forest dominated and I can't believe you lost. Hate to say this but i'm starting to think you may not make the Top 2 now. Didn't realise you'd signed Gareth McLeary from Bromley though, someone who also played for Slough at the start of last season. He's a pacy striker who can also play on the wing. Apparently when he played on the wing for Slough he never looked comfortable, although it must be said he was struggling with a knee injury during his time at the club and probably wasn't fully fit. He's looked quality from what I've seen of him at Bromley in the last 12-15 months, but must admit I didn't think he was good enough for a side at the top end of League 1. Oh and one thing I noticed in the 1st half was a familiar chant, "we're the greatest team the world has ever seen...". All I'll say to that is get your own bloody song!

I think I posted about McLeary when we signed him in January. Had never heard of him before but thought he was a striker so wondered why on earth we'd signed someone who's scoring record was 1 in 4 when they're playing 3 tiers below us?! But it looks as though he is actually a winger.
Think we need another striker again. Holt is USELESS, Agogo tries but I still don't think he scores enough, Tyson is injury prome. I'd love us to bring in Shefki Kuqi, I really would. He's been transfer listed and is a proven goalscorer. I'd happily put a bid for him in until the end of the season and then sign him permanently!

But it looks as though he is actually a winger. You briefly mentioned him when talking about the reserves, but i assumed it was one of your youngsters that have come through. Was going to mention his poor goalscoring record, he likes to drift out wide, like Doyle for us, so he's not a natural goalscorer, but he wasn't always a first team regular for Bromley, though I think he's played more this season. Don't think he played on the wing for them, they play 3-5-2 so i think he played up front, but as i haven't seen that much of him in the excellent highlights of Bromley games on their official website i could be wrong. He's a player I could possibly imagine a struggling League 1 side signing if the manager had worked with him before, like Stimson at Gillingham signing non-league players he knows, but Bromley have better players than him, hence why his departure hasn't affected their league position. It really shows how out of touch I am with non-league football if I didn't know you'd signed him! Would have been able to tell you what the Bromley fans thought of him if i'd known!

He coud prove to be a good signing. People on 606 are saying he looked faily good when he came on but had no time to make any impact. Which is the one thing that really infuriates me about Calderwood, his substituations. He never seems to change things, and always leaves it far too late to turn things around...

Two games this season, our only two home defeats. Last season we were on four times I think. We won one (the first leg of the play-offs) and were humiliated in the other three (Scunthorpe, Accrington, Yeovil). We also failed to win either of our BBC screened FA Cup matches, although granted one was at Stamford Bridge... If we ever make the Premiership that's 4 or 5 guarenteed defeats every season...

There's discussion on the Bromley forum about his performance last night, one person saying, "Did ok, and got to the byeline before crossing and an accidental handball. Made one good run into the heart of the Carlisle defence before knocking the ball on. All in all did ok in the 4 mins or so he had".
