Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood feels his side can still gain automatic promotion despite the draw at Crewe. The 0-0 draw at Gresty Road means Forest are now eight points behind Doncaster in second place, although the Reds have a game in hand. He said: "It was not a great result. We are still in the chasing pack but we have to win the next couple of games. "I am satisfied with the effort and the desire was there. There was never any threat of us losing."

Blimey, he must be the only person who thinks automatic promotion is still possible, although a manager has to stay positive. But if "never any threat of us losing" is enough for him, well i'm lost for words.

So true. Crewe are poor at the best of times and they had half their first team out injured and played with 1 up front on Saturday. So we played 532! Awful! We had Davies (our only natural winger) in the centre where he was lost and had no idea what he was doing, he got injured and was limping holding his hamstring indicating he needed substituting for FIVE minutes before he came off! He then moved to 442 with no wingers. We moved our right back to the centre midfield, a centre back to right back, and had two central midfielders on the wings. He's completely and utterly clueless, totally out of his depth. Atleast 90% of fans want him out now. Even the Northampton fans say he's rubbish, and he got them up! He's had enough time and more than enough money, and he's failed miserably twice now. I think for the first time ever I really don't care if we lose tomorrow...

1-0 down already being completely outplayed.
From the team it looks like we're playing 523 / 343. Dreadful.

1-1 end result!
He's bought himself another four days then.
Second half and changes that can make an impact are the best thing he's done for ages. Still have zero faith, though...
Going to be a huge challenge to finish in the play-offs.

1-1 was a pretty good result tonight. Southend are in good form and are looking good for the playoffs.

Just found out that it was a Reading player, currently on loan, who scored Southend's goal. Not only that it was Robson-Kanu's 1st goal in league football!

Even Port Vale have just won at Crewe... Christ! Found a match report of that game, makes it even more of a shock that you couldn't beat Crewe. Absolutely massive game for Gillingham at the weekend, failure to beat Crewe at home and i think they may well be going down.. Crewe 0 Port Fail 2 League 1 £19 What a waste of money, could not see where the Crewe goals would come from. First half was dreadful, The alex then started well in the second, but were hit on the break and gave away a penalty after that the clayheads were comfortable winners. Kenny lunt must be wondering what the hell he is doing back there, he stood head and shoulders above everyone (not literally, hes only small) on both sides, but was surrounded by clueless overpaid (in normal terms)/underpaid (in football terms) bafoons. Give me more non league football please. On that showing the Alex are doomed (Gillingham away saturday is now hugely important)

A bit of excellent news! Grant Holt hs been loaned out for the rest of the season! Surprisingly he's gone up a division to Blackpool, he should fit in though what with all the donkeys there... Really glad to see the back of him!

We just need to consolidate play-offs. Automatic is as good as gone with Carlisle 2-0 up away at Orient at half-time. If can get some momentum towards the end of the season with and Tyson and Ormerod keep playing as well as they are we may stand a chance. Still think we may need another striker though if Hoskins won't be fit, we can't continue with just those and Agogo is less use than I would be at the moment, got to get rid...

Play-offs definitely now then barring a miracle... To be fair, I didn't necessarily expect you to beat Brighton. They've been in good form lately, with Forster on 19 for the season, which i still can't believe. He never scored that many for us in league 1 and he's now 34! With his goals they may be a dark horse for the playoffs..

Yesterday we had some much needed transfer activity as we signed Dmitris Konstantopoulos on loan from Coventry, we really do need a back-up keeper!
Today, he ruptured his achilles tendon!
